Club World Cup - Summer 2025

This is rubbish. We are talking about the next CWC, presumably in 2029.

So no one has a clue what the one-year or five-year UEFA Club Rankings will be by then.
Its not rubbish.
Its a bit like the PL table a quarter way through the season.
We have a good idea already of the teams in the mix and what they need to do.

Todays winners of Palmeiras v Botafogo and Benfica v Chelsea meet in the first quarter the winners of which meet the winners of City v Al Hilal versus Inter v Fluminese.

I am not too bothered about todays games but I think it would be better for us if Benfica beat Chelsea.

One English club winning it would put us under pressure
I am assuming that ourselves, arsenal and liverpool also qualify for the final 2 champions leagues in the 4 year period.
It looks like being a 3 horse race for CWC qualification too.
If we win one of the next three editions of the Champions League we are in, no matter what. Next season’s would be good.

Of course and it would take a lot of pressure off us. Chelsea beat us in the final and it allowed them to enter at the expense of Liverpool.
PSG are already qualified for next tournament and so they can afford an off season in the CL.

I don't give a rats arse what the hypocritical press are waffling on about.
We drove over to Orlando from the Tampa area on Wednesday; went to Murphy's Pub and met up with some brilliant City fans from England and the States.
Event was well organized by the Orlando Supporters Club with Shaunie and Lescott in attendance.
Transport to and from the match was arranged.
I thought we played quite well overall and 5-2 is impressive.
After the match, back to Murphy's for some brilliant banter with the lads.
Great 2 days for a tournament I wasn't initially bothered about.
If we win on Monday, the quarters are on Friday in Orlando.....very tempting, but ticket prices are a bit expensive even before we know who will be playing

That's 2 matches, most matches are averaging about 13,000, mind you I didn't expect too much in Dollar land.
Average so far is 37,000 probably more since that didn’t include a couple of games played since which were both above 50,000

A lot of the stadia are enormous so a half empty stadium can still be over 40,000

I would imagine the revenue generated, particularly should we win it, will see renewed focus on winning the Champions League again. If having won it in the previous 4 years continues to dictate invitations, then the domestic cup competitions will unfortunately have to be deprioritised further.
Does anyone know if winning the CWC automatically guarantees an invitation to defend it?
No decision made yet
