Either one day or two day rest in between depending on weather & how I feel

I'm sure you're all itching for the latest installment of my 'Road to Great North Run' training. Well wait no longer! In this week's exciting episode, I managed to go one better than falling over in a big muddy puddle by dropping a large, heavy object on my foot and breaking my big toe in true Laurel and Hardy style.
Yeah, I'm very self-conscious about wearing the r*d shirts. Weight wise, you are weight training as well as running, weights build muscle which weighs more,
Also your looking at very small amounts of weight, do you weigh yourself at the same time of day?.
I weighed myself this morning before running and was 83kg and after I was 79.6kg, whilst I agree weight is important for speed in running, is not the be all and end all, oh and the sugar in the wine is not doing you any favours, some decent pointers in this article

The boozing is a tricky one mate, I'm currently well into one of my dry spells again so it's a bit easier for me to leave it alone, but I think people of our age have it programmed into our DNA, sunny=get pissed, raining=bored=get pissed, Friday, Saturday or Sunday=weekend= get pissed etc etc etc!!Yeah, I'm very self-conscious about wearing the r*d shirts. Yep, it's the booze and the missus' biscoff brownies that are responsible for the weight gain. Alcohol is indeed full of calories - you are correct. A bottle of white wine contains around 600-700 calories. Plus, running the next day after drinking isn't great, and I'm also guilty of taking the 'hair of the dog's approach to deal with the hangover (such as at this very moment).
I am finding it hard to stay off the booze if I'm honest.
Yeah, to be honest I find it very hard to relax. I have autism and ADHD which in my case gives me a constant 'fight or flight' feeling but the booze does actually help me to forget about my stresses for a bit. My wife got into the London marathon so decided to get off my arse and start running so I can get out to help support her. I am sure she will need a partner in the next few months!
Starting with the Runna program, doing around 3 something KM in 30mins, mix of 1/2min running and 1min walking as I build it up.
Currently in Japan, still sticking at it and trying to get out in the mornings so I don't die in the mid-day heat.
My wife is raising money for a charity which really helped when she was sick last year so hoping she can reach her target!
Just walked back from my morning swim (calorie burning + nice cooling water = double win) and there's people out running in the midday sun in 25°C heat. Talk about mad dogs and Englishmen!
I'm not long back from my dinner time run, all about aclimatising to the heat for me, off to Croatia on Friday and it's currently 40 degrees there so running is going to be erm..... interesting!!I've got an easy 6k run to do today and think I'm going to do it at dinner. I love a run in the heat, especially a shorter one.
Once it gets beyond 10k I'd be a bit more careful.
