TV Series

I think that’s a bit mad. Assuming you enjoyed it up until that point.

Are you not a bit intrigued in how they boxed it all off?

I enjoyed the first three series but by the end of the fourth, and this had built up over the whole time, I just realised I disliked all the characters that much by that stage that I didn’t care what happened to them.

Just got through waterfront. Really enjoyed it and think it's got legs for multiple seasons if it remains that strong. Closest thing to Ozark I've seen.

The Bear season 4 episode 7, the one with the wedding, that is 100% some of the best tv I've seen in a long while.
It was brilliant.

Finished Dept Q last night, loved it. Some great characters in there.
Just finished it now, Amazing how we all have different views ,We hated it.
Plot was ridiculous ,characters over done , predictable with the team forming at the end. everybody angry and annoyed at something . Just an awful unbelievable series for me.
You could see from the start what they were doing with the characters, tying to make a long running series.
Carl Morck was a very poor Jackson Lamb without his wit or guile, just his bad temper.
But its highly rated so what do I know.

You're not alone. Impossible to ignore the sheer ridiculousness of the plot. Allied to awful cliché, every 'group of misfits' trope in the book, the embarassing feel good epilogue. Dire!

Watching The Son western series starring Pierce Brosnan kidnapped by the Comanche as a young lad told partly in flashbacks very good.

I really enjoyed it. Just finished it now and though a bit of a stretch on the plot I agree (not many series aren’t to be fair) I thought it was excellent.

I am hoping Peaky Blinders film is finished on a high. I haven't been quite as anxious for something to come out in many years. Hopefully will be similar to El Camino with Breaking Bad.

I really enjoyed too. The plot got ridiculous but like you say nearly everything does these days

We Were Liars(Amazon)
Dull. Started off ok but slow, it’s dragging on and just boring now. 1 episode to go and that will that that over with and quickly forgotten

Just finished first season of the Last Kingdom. I cannot believe I missed it when it was out. Brilliant stuff, if you liked the Vikings, then this is kind of telling the same tale but from the Saxon perspective. Alternates from light humour to hard gore to quite deep moments. The storyline also goes on massive curveballs from what would be expected from foreshadowing. It is quite fast paced for a series of this genre too. The episodes are over an hour watch time and pretty much have major shit going on in every one. The first three episodes are very fast paced and scene setting to get straight into what is coming. The main conflict of it all is religion of course. Looking forward to watching the second season.
Just finished the second series of the Last Kingdom. It is quite frustrating as characters get killed off that you have inadvertently made an affiliation to. I don't want to put spoilers here, but the curveballs are ridiculous. No episode is safe. Series 2, I would say is a little bit slower than Series 1 as there were a couple of boring episodes. But apart from that, crazy shit is still going on and no character is safe. A couple of my favourite characters die towards the end of Series 2.

There's a marked difference in The Last Kingdom (BBC series) and The Last Kingdom (Netflix series) basically it got bigger funding, bigger battles, bigger scope and much darker in tone once Netflix took over.
