PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It’s all a load of bull anyway.

Who cares which poster is correct?

The verdict will be delivered and piss will boil, that’s a fact.

Nothing more than a costly commercial argument that has made its way to a 3 man panel. Inadequate and totally disproportionate to the “fraud” claim.

Mansour’s business should be closed down by the HMRC and investigated by the police who then pass it onto the crown.

Must have missed that bit…

Oh yea too busy crying about glasto bands and migrants boats.

Wow, that is clearly great news, im just surprised that the result hasn't been leaked by anybody? Also why would they panel agree to the PL request to delay publication, when im sure City would want the result published ASAP. Does this not show some bias ? Or is this common in legal cases?
Well it will all be under NDA of course, for a start. And the last thing we want is some argument about breaking NDA confidentiality.

But also, I suspect the verdict will be much more nuanced than "No case to answer - you are completely innocent of all charges", vs "banged to rights". I suppose it is possible the PL and City may well be doing some horse-trading on what an acceptable outcome is, in which case neither would want to leak anything.

i don't believe that @Prestwich_Blue would release information on a whim. The fact that Stefan does not have that information does not make PB's assertion false. It also does not mean that PB is correct because the information he has been given may be false.

It is hard to keep patient on this because of how long it is taking. I would be surprised if we do not hear before the new season begins, however.

BTW if you think City will be in the mood to help the PL with comms of a City win by delaying for months, then you haven’t been listening or watching
Do you feel City would release the verdict immediately regardless of PL request?

Is it taking long because when they write it up they have to reread it make sure everything’s correct? Presume it’s rubbish that they release it this time or that time? It be fully released when it done!

Baffling why it taking so long…

Reading this thread is like listening to soldiers in a trench the day before they go 'over the top'.

  • The all bravado ones - let me at 'em, we're innocent as fuck
  • The worriers - we're dead, dead I tell ya
  • The officers rallying and giving confidence to the weak
  • The sergeants patrolling looking for any form of dissent
  • The gallows humour type, just joking their way through it
I'm sure you could at least one posters name to each type.

Feels like people feel fairly certain because they've spoken to someone so high up, that they totally trust they know what they're talking about. I know nobody here is doing it as a wind-up or because the tea lady told them.

So is it possible that youve both spoken to the same person but got different replies?

Scenario 1
Stefan/Ahsan have the truth, PB got given duff info to see if he'd leak it.

Scenario 2
PB has the truth, Stefan/Ahsan haven't been trusted with the info because they have platforms to tell a lot of people at once either deliberately or accidentally.
There is some embarrassing flase equivalence in this thread, not least in this post.

Pure speculation on my part but I think when Pep said he thought one month to a decision he genuinely believed that based on what he was being advised by the club and that presumably reflected what the lawyers thought. Then something happened to delay the handing down of the judgment - potentially an application by the PL to exclude certain evidence or they were able to convince the tribunal that best interests of the PL were served by a delay. Who knows. I am convinced that City have not been officially told the result but can deduce the outcome from the proceedings, the demeanour of the panel, their questions etc. For all we know the PL may have conceded on certain charges given the strength of City’s evidence.

I'm not embarrassed Dave, sorry that you are.

Different people both think they're right, both think they know what's going on. I don't think either would be lying, so someone is just wrong. Maybe they should consider that, that's all.

I'm the opposite tbh. For about 18 months after the charges were first announced, it was on my mind a lot and I was pretty stressed thinking about the possible outcome and ramifications. It's dragged on so long now that I find myself less arsed these days. Partly fatigued by it all, partly because of all the soft signals from the club. Even in the very worst case scenario, I'd just think fuck it and carry on supporting the club regardless, as I have my whole life. Nothing would detract from the memories of the treble, Centurions season etc.
Not sure I'd be saying fuck it if we were found guilty of some or all of the major allegations but other than that, my feelings are pretty much the same as yours mate. While the importance of the situation hasn't changed, I've lost a huge amount of interest in the past few months. Specifically since the end of March because back then a lot of the talk was that we would hear something during the March international break. I'd been hugely invested in the topic up until then from the day the news of the charges broke but I find myself only checking this thread occasionally these days in the forlorn hope that there's been an update.

I can only think that the Premier League haven't found someone as thick as masters to come in or whoever has come in has realised the corruption going on and said see you later.
Unless they are still waiting for the rags and the dippers to choose the perfect puppet to manipulate again.
