Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Infantino in white trainers and a suit next to trump. Don't know which one I'd want to shoot first!

No. This is dross imo. Won't be long b4 those Yanky Dollar PL owners have their teams playing in the US.

And lo when it comes to pass any City away to the USA games will be sandwiched between CL games. Meanwhile when it comes to Dips and Arse etc, their US games will be followed by either an international break or a home game vs pl relegation fodder. You just can write the script now....
Even sports persons are not exempt from the strict (and even getting stricter) US immigration rules.
Anyone with a drugs related, or violent conduct conviction, could find themselves barred from entry.
I think there was a South American player who was barred from the current CWC.

You make some fair comments.
But I disagree with the following.

I think every game in a UK World Cup would sell out.

The premise of a Club World Cup is fine.

But in its current format, with the current number of clubs, at the current time, in the current location, with the football schedule as it is, at the advertised ticket prices, with the lack of interest from both fans and TV companies, and it having to be subsidised by the Saudis in return for the World Cup. Then I think it’s fair to say it’s not a good thing.
If City had won it, it would have been a great thing ? No ?

Enrique just slapped Joao Pedro to the floor, that’s him getting a lengthy ban then and then another if he joins City in the future.

It was a comment made with CL Final 2021 v Chelsea in mind, tongue in cheek.

That said I thought PSG would batter Chelsea tonight.

PSG can rest players at the start of their season and still win the league.
I said Chelsea had a good chance and backed them as an outsider due to the PSG run in and a day less to recover, but didn't expect them to win. You could see they were on the front foot and PSG were tired from the start.

Chelseas ability to win trophies despite not having a fully settled side is incredible. their CL win in 2021 vs our side that was building towards it since long time while their squad was brand new at the time with Tuchel just taking over in January basically and 5 months later lifted CL trophy and funnily hardly anyone around still from that squad maybe Reece James only of the 25 man squad lol.

I really hope in the future we will win big trophies against the odds or when we really dont deserve much. cannot see tho somehow when we dont deserve it we really play shit as well which results in eliminations for losing finals like recent FA cups.

would be fantastic to win a CL when there are 3 other sides much better overall but we get lucky with penalties in a tie where we are badly second best, or opponent hitting the post in semis whole we score two deflected goals going in from the post etc. for some clubs it happens sometimes for us almost never.

even when we have piss easy draw like this season in FA cup or CWC we mess up.

Wanted City to win this but the good thing about getting knocked out is that the players didn't have to shake Trump's hand.

Wonder what Pep would have done if face to face with him?

DAZN say they have had 3 billion viewers.

Not to keen on Chelsea winning it but I think this tournament has been brilliant.

Il will miss it the football on the box, but the PL season is not too far away now.

If City had won in 2021 I don't think Chelsea qualify either, as they would be have had less match and competition points in the qualification table, they finished 3 above Liverpool so it would have been crucial.
