Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Ederson and Ortega contracts both expire in less than 12 months. For all we know City have been working on this all Summer. The Gala president has been talking about signing Ederson all Summer. City may have told Trafford. It does not change his status. He's still the no. 2 keeper fighting for the the no. 1 spot, but it will make it harder to play in the big games in the future if Donnarumma signs.

I will be very happy if this happens as I support City not individual players. Trafford has got a great job competing to be City's no.1 alongside the best players in the world.
I think this is fair.
James Trafford eloquently explains that he takes each day as an opportunity to improve. He does not think too far into the future. It is pretty clear that coming here he knows he will have to compete. He has the faith in himself that he can do that.

Using what logic?
Huge wages and I don't rate him particularly highly. Was good last season but I just don't see him as an elite GK.

It's going to be a huge change to how we build from the back tactically and we're only a few days from the start of the season.

I just think it makes a lot more sense to keep Ederson and then asses Trafford this season and then decide what level of keeper we need next summer.

But mostly it's just a feeling.

Trafford would have known that Ederson was staying or if he left another keeper would come in and he would have to battle for his place, that conversation will have happened imo. Maybe Trafford was happy to come back to City and battle for his place? One injury to someone can change things or loss of form anyway and we need TWO top keepers!

Ah these little sleeper cells are frothy this morning aren't they!
Look back at my posts and you won't see me post this kind of thing often. It's my opinion/feeling with this move.

The whole point of the forum is for people to discuss opinions. It's fine if you disagree.

Not sure Donnarumma is anywhere near Oblak, Garcia, Alison, Cortois or Chevelier.

He never wins the ball from crosses, he is panicky and unsure with his feet and the distribution he does get away is all over the place. Decent enough shot stopper, but Paris are replacing him with a better keeper.
Wow, that is some really bad opinion, but it's your opinion.
Psg fuck them self because of big wages that they given him in first place, and now they wanted him to take pay cut he did not take.
Now they are saying about like they wanted different syle keeper which is bull shit from Psg.

Don’t worry about it. People probably going off the champions league games he played and he made some brilliant saves to form their opinion.

Fwiw I agree with you. I’m not convinced this is a great move by city. The fact enrique wants rid is a huge red flag to begin with, the fact he is very uncertain with his feet which has led to errors etc, reluctance to come for crosses etc.

He is undoubtedly a very good shot stopper. But I wouldn’t say he is close to being a great fit for what city would usually want in a goalkeeper.
