I just don’t see what a lot of you see with this lad:

Serie A (215 games):
15/16: 3 errors (1 goal)
16/17: 6 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
17/18: 8 errors (4 goals)
18/19: 3 errors (2 goals)
19/20: 7 errors (3 goals)
20/21: 2 errors (1 goal)

Ligue 1 (104 games):
21/22: 2 errors
22/23: 5 errors (3 goals, 1 penalty)
23/24: 5 errors (1 goal, 1 penalty)

I’ve seen Ederson make 2/3 errors in a game too! Come on you go looking for faults in a player is what a not city fan would do! I’ve just checked all his world class saves and penalty saves because as a Man City fan I want to look for the positives for one of the best goalies in Europe!

A club like ours one of the best in Europe you don’t go into a season with Trafford as number one goalie and you buy a goalie that slightly worse as your second goalie? This isn’t like a club like our will be run!

Is this guy good with his feet, or might we have to change our approach if we sign him?

We've been kicking long to Haaland more frequently in pre season ive noticed that. Trafford did it continuously.

Scrutiny is part of football discussion in every pub and on every forum in the world.

If we didn’t scrutinise players, there’d be no discussion, and just everyone giving each other a reach around like some kumbaya hippie festival.

Correct but you just looked at the negatives with no balance! I see his faults like I saw Ederson faults all this doesn’t mean a player a goalie is poor! It’s mad fans can’t see both sides of players or won’t change there stance it’s black or white right or wrong! The world ain’t like that either!

This is Peps obsession overloading in one position, and then playing them out of what's considered their best position! So, which keeper does pep have his eye on to play Left Back???
well Ederson did start out in football as a fullback so you never know with Pep! ;-)

Only on Bluemoon could fans go mad that we could potentially be signing the best keeper in the world.

He was head and shoulders the best goalkeeper last season, PSG wouldn't have won the Champions League without him.

Ederson is to leave next year anyway so all we'd be doing is kicking the can down the road looking for another keeper next summer. The best goalkeeper is available now, Let's get it done.

PSG play possession football and the 3 best English clubs played them last season and all were unable to press Donnarumma and force him into mistakes. In fact, Donnarumma was the reason PSG knocked out Arsenal.

A feature of our game is Ederson stepping forward and being an extra player when we recycle the ball at the back.

Im guessing with Donna that aspect of our play will devolve somewhat.

If we don’t mind that then I’m not sure why we wouldn’t push Trafford instead.

Aside to all the Donarumma stuff, is it not a bit strange that Ederson would want to to to Galatasary?

Thought he was after. big money move to Saudi league?

Trade-offs. The world class saves he can make trump the mistakes he may make.

I don't mind if he's shit (relatively) with his feet. It might stop us flapping about at the back unnecessarily.

We need a quicker tempo all round. Yes we need to have great passing outfield but it needs to be at a higher pace. Not having Ederson as an out option might be like removing a safety net and getting us to switch on more intently in defense and midfield so we get forward quicker.

I think too much is being made of the footwork aspect of donnarumas game, its not unthinkable that pep is trying to phase that out of citys play and bring the defence closer to the keeper to negate us getting broken on so frequently.

Sorry, I just don’t understand why we are signing him. (If true). Are we completely changing our way of playing from the back? He has been left out at PSG because he can’t/wont play the distributor with the feet role. ( A row about it has been reported.) PSG obviously don’t think his shot stopping makes up for the lack of feet. Do we think the opposite?
What the fuck is going on?
Oh, by the by, someone on here challenged my view that players were now mere commodities. If we buy Donna, what does that make Trafford?
I expect @twosips is doing his nut! I’ll check.
PS I have checked at Esteemed Kompany. It’s fair to say that @twosips is somewhat conflicted. He said he was not going to lose any sleep over it. A likely tale.
Agreed, how must Trafford be feeling knowing he might not even be our number two keeper if Donarumma signs. There's no guarantees that Ederson goes or Ortega for that matter

Football forums hey it’s like peoples don’t think things through! The club is doing the right thing!

He made more mistakes that led to goals in all competitions last season than Onana.

He's the best shot stopper in the world.

I wouldn't say best keeper. Especially with how we play.

Either we're changing how we play or expect errors from him because his kicking is more like De Gea than Ederson and is the reason Enrique wants him gone.

Ederson will go he has deal for 8m a year and they have offered 7m we want 13m the deal be done!

I’ve said it before but Ederson goes like he will a club like us will not go into a season with just Trafford who looks the business top quality but honestly we don’t really know so we go for the best goalie in Europe last season no brainer!

Not like you to look at something in the most miserable way possible.

We won’t be signing him if Ederson stays and Ortega will be off no matter what happens.
