Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Except when he scored 9 in a year in la liga
I didn't know we played in La Liga!
You can't accept the fact he had an absolutely massive drop-off, that Girona was a one-season wonder over a year ago and Savinho himself is being egotistic and arrogant in the dressing room. He can't cut it in the PL, 70mil is an incredible deal for him.
Also, so many of you are gullible, it's been 2 hours and the only mention of this is Brazilian guy's Instagram story ROFL

He’s nowhere near shit.

13 assists in all comps in a first season in this country at 21 is very good, especially in a team that was unsettled with an injury crisis all season.

He seriously needs to work on his finishing, but at 21 he’s 5 years away from even entering his prime and has bags of time to improve on it.
Add, let’s say, 7 goals to an improvement to 15 assists this coming season, and you’re talking of someone on the rise. If he stays, let’s judge him more fairly after another season with hopefully a more settled team with fewer injuries and playing better.

Rodrygo is decent, but he’s not got 13 assists in any season in his career so far and he’s two years older than Savinho and plays in an easier league with far fewer packed defences sitting back. We’d only have people moaning about him next year if he replicated his 6 goals and 5 assist of last season at Madrid.

Agreed re Savinho, but Rodrygo is a lot more than decent. It would have been an improvement and so today's news is a bit disappointing, but tbh Rodrygo's best position is on the left and so would've made more sense to sell Doku than Savinho

Very happy with Bobb and Savinho maybe even Cherki competing for that right forward position. We have a lot of depth across all attacking areas tbh

I'd rather have Rodrygo. Him on the left and Bobb on the right was quite enticing. But if Sav stays then fair enough. He's got a battle on his hands to get past Bobb for the majority of games

After seeing Bobb, savinho has no relevant involvement in this squad. If bobb doesn't start then you play nunes for width and have foden inside forward or even cherki floating around. Foden will have to be used more in those forward slots as cherki is the man through the middle and even reijnders if you wanna have nico and rodri middle 2.

Don’t think there was any issue with Nolito’s talent. There was just the slight issue of him being an absolute bellend

Only real memory I have of him is he was always first to celebrate with whoever scored.

Anyway, despite his very good La Liga numbers(3 straight seasons) he started just 9 league games for us and struggled. It shows you cant use someones La Liga performances to gauge whether someone will get better in the Prem.

I'm not believing any source and didn't exclude the possibility that Savinho might go. Hence the last sentence in the post you are replying to.

Your take on Savinho is harsh. At his age Salah was still at Basel. His potential is the important thing here. Did Palmer look better than him before moving to Chelsea? No, that's why we wanted just 45m or so.
I don’t think his potential is in doubt, what I think is in doubt is his mental toughness and I have seen so many potentially good players fail because of it.

For me - and this is my vindictive head talking
It is also important if any deal that happens with Spurs, we rinse them to their last penny for obvious Spurs and Levy reasons.
He is "renowed" that he wins every deal and I want an Ndombele type rinsing from us. I am pretty sure the deal makers in our club are not petty as a fan like me but I hope they say no unless they reach the lovely 70million pound number.

literally the first game of the last season against Chelsea. Not wolves but Chelsea. Had both wingers on both sides on skates
He didn't do it for the full game, he went off injured at HT. Listen you like him and that's fair enough. But all I saw last season was a lightweight show pony who played in odd flashes. Couldn't care less what he did in Girona season before, plenty players have done well in one league and not the another. If he stays I hope you are right but can't see it. I don't think he his good enough to be starting for us and I don't think he starts for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or the top teams on the continent either all clubs we want to be competing with.

I genuinely can’t believe that after what’s been happening the last two weeks that it’s over and he will just want to or be welcomed back to the club with open arms?

An absolutely "massive drop off" is being our 4th top G+A player in his first season in a new league at the age of 21. Our top assister, 98% percentile for dribbling, passing and assisting.

I do not remember one bad word about his attitude until the bid went in, if you can find one I'm happy to be proved wrong.

70m is a good price I dont disagree. I think he could be a 100m player, but he could alwo top out at 50m. I'd suggest that the fact we've resisted two lower bids is solid evidence that the club don't consider him a) rubbish or b) poison in the dressing room.
