Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

All sorts of conjecture based on rumour of who said what to whom.
I said last week that we won't buy a goalkeeper who can't use his feet proficiently.
And I said that we would be unlikely to sell the player who had the most assists last year and replace him with a very expensive toy who frankly considering he plays for Madrid has shit return.
This is not based on ITKs, fevered journalists, what we might like and how much we want to stuff Levy.
It's just logic. Re the assists. 8 was the same as Palmer, Eze, Bowen, Odegaard, Gibbs-White and Watkins!
Not quite sure what you all expect from a 21 year old playing his first season in the PL.
Can you remember Sterling being slagged off continually?

When you take a look at his contributions, it seems remarkable that he wasn't liked by a large amount of the fan base.

On a slightly lesser scale, Mahrez FFS

My mentality. I’m being realistic by all accounts we need to get rid of a non homegrown player which one are you getting rid of realistically. When you take in who’s want them on their wages and fee
For a start I wouldn’t use terminology like “getting rid of”, a right piece of work you are. It’s not my job to decide who stays and who goes, and I certainly am not going to bad mouth any of them. Your comment of oh and throw Gundogan in for free is disgusting

Doue has scored or assisted 1 in his last 10.

Palmer hasn't scored in open play since January.

That's young players for you, inconsistent.

Kinda supports the argument that Savinho is still one of the world's best young wingers.
Sadly he is shut according to many because he only assisted in his first season and didn’t rival salah yet he is a creator machine when looking at the stats.

I said he's in the top 5 U21 wingers in the world right at the start and I'm sticking with it and now I know at least Ferran agrees too!

28 G/A across the PL and La liga in his first two seasons before he even turned 21 (except after april, as he's got an april birthday).

Absolute quality in my eyes.

Agreed. However, the Savinho to Spuds links are coming from Brazil. With him being left out on Saturday & our subsequent links to Rodrygo, it leads me to think no smoke without fire.

So who do you think we can realistically get rid of instead of him considering we have to get rid of a non homegrown player
Get rid of?
I think Ortega is less likely to stay given he now looks like being 3rd in the pecking order.
Btw, you may want to consider how your lexicon may be perceived by others. Having an opinion is healthy, appearing discourteous will probably not land well..

Yeah I think it's basically at if Spurs offer 70m he's gone, we get Rodrygo. If they don't he stays and Pep, Soriano and probably even Sav aren't too distressed.

Obviously we're not desperate to shift him, he's not scorched earth and burnt his bridges to get out and we value him, so really it just comes down to if Spurs want to make him their club record signing.

With him having a much higher ceiling than Eze and Kudus long term it wouldn't be the worst idea for them.

Or some people are just far too sensitive to be on an Internet forum. Most people knew exactly what he meant by 'get rid' & took it in the context of the transfer window.

You also have to consider the form of the person who took offence.

If you go back to the original post I replied to the poster took Ortega to be one that’s leaving

And I said throw in Gundo with Akanji and Ederson for 30m we get decent coin we get rid of 3 non homegrown grown players and I’d say Gundo would jump at the chance to play in Turkey because he’s said it many times before

Just looked at Salah season in the PL when he was 21 , 2 goals. 1 assist. Savinho way ahead of quite a few top players at 20,

How it's taken this long for a 'challenging' club to come in for Ezé beggars belief. Apparently City had a £60m bid turned down two summers ago, which led to us going after Nunes.

Tbh, Ezé, Kudos & Savinho is some fuckin attack!

I was honestly shocked when this thread started up and the responses weren't like "that's our Doue / Barcola / Guler obviously we're not selling"

9 goals and assists in your first season (and if you understand stats that's despite an almost impossibly low conversion rate) for a 20 year old is so good. If we were buying the guy who had just finished 4 in the Ballon D'Or young player award this summer we'd be buzzing.

Even in the Romano video he just casually says "he had a good debut season".

What are people expecting from 20 year old wingers in their first season in a new country under a famously demanding manager?

Even Pep says he hopes he's here for "many, many years"

Totally agree

Levy can pick an attacker that's for sure, he just won't pay for them. Absolutely hoarding some great young players right now, if he doesn't just shop them as soon as they double in value Spurs could be decent.

Fair point! I actually didn’t know that bald bastard was so integral to the 115.

Can’t stand him but still think Savio should go and Rodrygo come in!

I'm not blaming you in any way on your view on Savio.

But our common problem is Levy is responsible for the 115/130/ APT and everything else.

So fuck Levy!

He's had a chip on his shoulder ever since we paid 50 mil for Walker and won the league with him.
Business is business mate. I'll be happy if Savinho stays, or goes & is replaced by Rodrygo. Personally, I think Savinho has a higher ceiling than Rodrygo, but Rodrygo is the more complete player right now. That's the long & short of it imo...

As of now, it looks like it is.

I think if it is to be done it will have to be this week.

Not a chance do City sell Savinho and we are left with a week to negotiate a deal with Rodrygo, of which I don't even think we have spoke to Real Madrid yet, otherwise it would be all over the Madrid press.

That Rodrygo deal will not be as seamless as some think. They will want to have us over a barrel.
Depends on how true it is Rodrygo agents have been chatting to clubs. We might have already had some communication.

Beginning to think you’re either his agent or his dad!!

Why? Because he‘s been logical and doesn’t lose against recency bias and false claims to support your own argument? Oh
Some here want a world class winger replacement but when you ask them they don’t even which better winger exists out there. If no one comes to your mind I guess the one who doesn’t want savinho to leave is in the right.
