To be fair, smaller subs and other warships can get into the Black Sea via the Russian canal system - though they would be very vulnerable to drone attack near Rostov these days
(Turkey stopped Russian warships passing the bosphorus in 2022).

After all the tub thumping of a historic meeting in Alaska last Friday and European and NATO leaders rushing to the Whitehouse on Monday. The next steps in the process comes grinding to a stop when Russia has to do something.

Last Friday was never about peace with Ukraine for Putin, it was about getting back on the world stage and seeing if he could get some business done with Trump for his skint country.

Even before any of what he has done in Ukraine, Putin has authorised the use of chemical weapons on British Sovereign soil. He should have been arrested just for that the moment he touched down in Alaska, instead seeing him smiling away in the presidential limo after what has happened in the last three and a half years was sickening.

This is spot on. Putin has set his demands so high while not offering anything in return. So much so that there is no other option than to carry on with this senseless, futile war.

The only positive is that it is seriously damaging Russia's economy and before long something there will have to give.

He just got played so badly by Putin.

Nothing has changed in the last 30 days. Trump's deadline has come and gone yet in that time Putin gets the red carpet treatment on American soil.
