Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Teams with quality have sussed us out . We no longer have a fear factor . I was cringing at half time when the old ‘we beat spurs from 2-0 down 2 years ago’ was trotted out. We were a different beast then . Pep must take responsibility for this tika taka. It’s not working with this group sadly . The young keeper was a bag of nerves and quite frankly so were we all
Flat track bullies, think we have won 6 of the last 22 against the ‘big’ teams

There were a few more worrying performances than Trafford's, I grant you that.
Lewis poor, out of position too much and passing awful. That pass straight into touch, fucking hell! 3/10
Marmoush poor. Should have scored and his 2nd touch always seems to be a tackle.4/10
Gonzalez Poor. Slow, ponderous and too often caught in possession. Weak. 3/10
Bobb average at best, very weak and struggled against pace and strength. 5/10
Dias average again. Richarlison to clever for him. 4/10
Haaland, average, feeding on scraps again. 5/10
Reijnders average, wrong decision making on numerous occasions. 5/10
Cherki average, a few nice touches but struggled to have any impact. 5/10
Trafford nervous as hell, playing out is not his strength. Awful for 2nd goal. 4/10
Stones decent, some great last tackles kept the score down. 7/10
Ait Nouri good until he went off. Hope nothing serious. 6/10

We went in 0-2 down and our keeper hasn’t had anything to save. As per, theirs makes 2 or 3 great saves to keep them in it. First 25 mins we were good and should have scored a couple. Foden needs to be on from the start, he is more of a goal threat than Bobb. Rodri needs to be on from the start and if his minutes are being managed carefully, sub him off. Foden and Rodri were brought on far too late; and as for Doku, headless chicken today.

So very disappointing today so many poor performances I have got to say I just don't get the love in for Bob he has never done anything of note apart from a good goal at Newcastle 2 years ago
Yeah put Bernardo on the right wing lest effective than a wet rag

Our standards have dropped and also our levels. Players like Doku, Lewis and such like would be nowhere near our best side in recent years and we’ve been gaslit into believing these are city players. Gradually our world beaters have slowly been replaced with much lesser players, resulting in much lesser performances. After the injury our back 4 was Ake Dias stones and Lewis. Entering the 25/26 season and that being our back 4 is shoddy to say the least.

You then have Pep, who quite easily in the best manager we will ever see but equally doesn’t see the wood from the trees anymore. Repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results. You can not play as high as we do, be as lackluster in front of goal and win games against half decent sides. It simply won’t happen. Any half decent manager knows how to play against us and they tend to do it quite easily. A lot thought a summer window and a refresh will bring us back but it was never that simple and Pep leading the rebuild always worried me. Whoever replaces him won’t win anywhere near as much, but a fresh approach

Funny how we all see games differently. I thought Bobb was as poor as everyone else. A schoolboy levered off the ball repeatedly and nary a shot or a cross to his name. Cerki, Nico, Lewis, Reindeers and Marmoush were all worse though, as was Bernie when he came on
I seen it just like you.

Bobb was terrible, but there was worse than him.

Marmoush is just not the answer to any of our issues.

Had a good 6 months in the German league playing off Ekitike, previous to that he'd been unremarkable as a left winger and failed as a lone CF.

Trafford - didn't know when to come for the ball or stay, quite a few miss placed passes, reminded me of early days of Ederson where he got a few red cards.

Nico Gonzalez - Just needed to position himself 10 yards further forward so defence had an outward pass.

With that, we're playing further up the pitch linking with Marmoush, Cherki, Haaland.

I'm not of the slag Lewis off @every opportunity ilk, but he is so easily shrugged off the ball, like a kid in a man's game
Most of them get shrugged off the ball too easily. More and more clubs are going for seven behind the ball then breaking with speed and power so we're going to see a lot more shrugged off the ball.
I accept strength is part of the game, but why do our players hold on to the ball when they are physically weaker than the opposition? Pass the fucker rather than get tackled on the halfway line. Or just chip it forward and hope for the best, but don't keep getting caught in possession. And certainly don't roll over and hope the ref gives a free-kick as it won't happen if you're wearing sky blue.

Hard to disagree, collectively poor.

It’s not the players it’s the system. The squad is chock full of good players. The system nullifies them and doesn’t play to their strengths. The manager and coaching team need to own that. If they can’t change it and find something that is more suitable then thats on them
Totally agree, but you will have a job convincing some on here.

When you watch traffords calamity again from the angle behind the goal.. wtf was he thinking!!??

He could have chosen 4 or 5 other easy options that would not have ended in disaster

Coaching, coaching, fuck knows what we do all week.

Worst performance today for me was Pep. Did nothing to influence the game. I love him but today is the first time I've thought he might be too tired to maintain his standards.
