Can anyone please clarify to an old git like me, I have my missus ST on my phone. So therefore if she can't make a game, could I just take a mate using her ticket? Seems simple enough but I'm not sure if City have found a way to stop this.

I was told by someone on the phone at the club that you can’t do this as it’s against security and safety etc. they will have a dedicated team this season making sure that the person using the season ticket is the person named.

Random ID checks possibly? They can’t possibly check every ticket every game.

I think I will go down Monday and get a card. I am not doing that again. City bodged the inplementation of this tech. It works everywhere from buses to supermarkets, but they couldn't make it work. And not including a barcode on the ticket was an error.

It's not city's choice the premeir league have mandated all tickets for all fixtures have to be digital.

It's ludicrous isn't it? It's a hell of a lot safer and more secure having the ST holder nominate someone for their own seat than the club toshing out returned tickets to all and sundry via 3rd party resellers, resulting in away fans and randomers in home sections, how low an opinion of fan intelligence do they hold for us..?

It is instant in previous seasons, or more or less, just like sending a normal email.

It may have changed this season.

Until facial recognition comes in they can’t have any way of stopping this. I’m going to have my season ticket on my brothers phone so for the games I can’t make, he will buzz in my other brother. As someone else has said, they can’t ID everyone - or anyone, really, frankly.

Should be instant but didn’t work for me, had to phone them. Once I got through (1hr on hold) she sorted it in 2 minutes. No explanation why it hadn’t worked initially.
