Never thought I would see the day. John Bolton on the side of the good guys. He’s been a long standing critic of Trump, mainly on the grounds he is a moron. He isn’t wrong. For once :)
There's a big difference between people whose policy position you disagree with and people whose position on the rule of law you disagree with.

This is all about Bolton’s book (which Trump tried to get banned if I recall) because the book calls Trump an idiot on every other page. Bolton has also been saying that Trump got played by Putin, so this is using law enforcement to politically target an opponent out of spite.

This is going to blow up big time as Bolton isn’t going to be quiet about this. The only people reading Bolton’s book already know Trump is an idiot so this stunt will give it a wider audience. And all this after putting the military on the streets in Washington? You would have to be blind not to see where this is heading.

You also have to think how smart is this in the Republican party and washington insider scene.

Bolton was a Bush era military hawk. He is well known and well liked in the party for being a very knowledgeable figure. He worked under Bush and Trump and has decades of experience. He knows a lot of people, many wouldn't like his political views and trigger happy approach but this will make a lot if Republicans stop and think.

Maybe. I think it will make a lot of Republicans, and media, stop and make sure they keep their heads down. People overestimate bravery in standing against authoritarian figures. The norm is collaboration and hope that it blows over with out touching them.

Also, Bolton is not well liked. Respected, but not liked or popular. That shouldn’t matter because there is a principle at stake, but it will be liberals who fight for him, not people on his own side.

I'm assuming he must be liked but an element of the old school GOP. How else would he have got to where he did. And your right about keeping heads down but there is a time when Trump needs the wider Republican party to fight for him and maybe just a few more will just down tools.

The same has been true every day since the "stop the steal" campaign in 2019.

Yet here we are.

True. Plenty of warning signs and all ignored. Bolton could have spoken out at the second Trump impeachment, instead he demurred and released a book instead.

I guess Bolton will have a few regrets right now.

He’s a very abrasive and unlikeable character. That’s just my take though, and I hope you are right because this shit is only going to get worse.

Fuck me Kirk fresh from being destroyed by students in an Oxford debate is now spouting utter fucking shite. I'd love her to debate Kirk f2f - obviously he wouldn't agree because he knows she could tear him apart - oh and he doesn't seem to understand that engaged is not married - not the first thing he has failed to understand

Gorka is an awful thing isn't he ( I refrain from calling him human ) just talks over people because he doesn't want people to hear a counter argument
