Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

We have no idea if £70m was bid though. I don't rate the kid and would have moved him on if we had got a decent offer, but we have no proof we did, so to slate the board is ridiculous. I think this was an agent pushed through the media type transfer. I do agree the GK and RB situation is worrying.
Offer was 70mil Euros and we rejected it. It was more than enough because his current value is 50mil and if he drops a season like last one again, his value will get axed in half.

Spurs 100% offered 70mil in their 2nd bid and we 100% rejected it, per Fabrizio Romano. We even refused an offer higher than that which didn't go public. You'd think we'd focus on getting a right back now.. but no, our board is dead.

£70m? Really, I missed that claim. Been following this thread but guess can't see them all. I hadn't seen anything other than an early £40m ish bid claim ages ago. Could well be wrong though.

I think the only reason why we rejected it was because we knew we were never going to get Rodrygo over the line.

Deals with players like that take months not weeks.

I don't buy this notion that Soriano blocked the deal because of Levy and 115/ Kane.

Business is business, and by all accounts Savio was pushing to leave and we were getting upwards of £65-£70m for a player that was very likely not even going to be first choice this season.

Pep doesn't trust him on the left and for me Bobb and Foden have the left locked off.

I know but you did think we should sign Sancho and that Mahrez, Rodri and Cancelo were 'Spurs/Everton level signings'
and that Gundo and Zinchenko were not good enough either.

I genuinely don’t remember ever saying that apart from I did want Sancho back, that obviously would have been a mistake in hindsight!

Well what’s the alternative? Keeping a player that wants to leave? I feel with Bernardo, he won it all with us and always played for the club with passion, if he wanted to move nobody would hold it against him, he is a legend. I always got the feeling the move was wanted due to family reasons rather than not wanting to be at City.

Whereas Savinho, in terms of his career the club and the CFG have give him a platform to fulfill his dream and I feel he hasn’t reciprocated any of that, definitely not on the pitch after last season anyway. Why does he want to leave? He was our 2nd most played attacker last season. It stinks.
Having to explain that to someone comparing Savinho to Bernardo. It's a fucking madness!

I’ve not seen anything saying he wanted to. Seen that he was open to it when spurs came in if we accepted an offer. Not the same thing though. Anyway only interested in what he does now, not what he may or may not have thought. If he we thought he really wanted out though we’d have taken the offer.

As I said other day, I just hope Savio gets fired up to prove a point rather than spitting his dummy out and acting like a smacked arse.

We know Brazilians can be temperamental and without a shadow of doubt something was going on with us not seeing him in training and the random various insta posts from his end, and agent flying over etc.

I don't think it got beyond an enquiry. SSN reported this to be a social media transfer i.e., ITK nonsense.

And if he drops a season like 2 seasons ago he's a 100m player?

If it obviously "wasn't more than enough" to the only people who can set a price on him and clearly was an acceptable price to the buying club.

You're telling me if he does 9 G/A again taking him to 37 G/A across 3 seasons as a just turned 22 year old he'll only be worth 25m? Do you actually belive that?
