PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Jesus wept is this what journalism has become these days, keegan has just said a whole lot of nothing twice in that tweet and why the hell does someone have to release a statement saying they are planning NOT to do something whats the point.
At an all time low British journalism. What qualifications do you actually need these days?

"It's a requirement of UK takeover rules (which Spurs are subject to because 13% of shares are publicly traded) to state your intentions when speculation hits a certain level"

To stop any accusations of trying to push up the share price before selling

But who decides what level the speculation is and who drives it, so a person has to deny something is happening because journalists arbitrarily decide that it potentially could, thats madness

Is it ?
Few more Levy straws
Levy also commented that the issue should have been resolved internally by the Premier League, rather than through expensive legal processes involving lawyers.
This was in August
September he's gone
October has been reported when the verdict into our alleged breaches is due.
October it has been reported? By who? We have all been waiting since everyone said Easter.
Levy may have backtracked in them comments realising they chased City for nothing and wasted a lot of resources, that is of course great for us. I still don't see a scenario where it is so bad he resigns from a job he has been demanded to leave for years? That was my original question, if people feel it is linked, then what realistic scenario leads to him walking?

I am just managing my own expectations more than anything but even with that hat on I don't see where it is linked to us, but obviously hope I am proved wrong

the only ones that i can see are being a useless fantasist and a born liar, its coming to a point now where i have seen quotes attributed to people who have actively denied ever saying the quote and the journalist doubling down and say my sources say you have.

The independent panel requested access to emails and whatsapps from the pl if anything had come back from those i would place a large amount of money that levy would be bang in the frame for it and depending on the content of those emails and the fact that we already know that levy does not and never has acted in good faith, it wouldnt be too much of a leap to suggest that he has said and written a few things which would make him fall on his sword.

That was what I was looking for, actual substance and a reason why it would be so bad to walk. obviously if he has said anything bad in them emails or whatsaps then that is a possibility so thanks for clarifying. Fingers crossed that has happened, us being found not guilty and him out of a job is the stuff of dreams

Give them all enough time to warm the taxi's up before they scarper.

The Panel of Takeover and Mergers and the PTM code. This is a highly regulated area.
Fair enough then, i wasnt aware of that just seems a nonsense that the press can drum up any old rubbish they want and then it has to be denied.

What is the level? Where is it laid out? Is it open to interpretation? Does one or two tweets achieve the threshold? Can a few newspaper articles or some forum posts trigger the level?

It's all a bit vague. We could get something trending on Twitter X about United, and force Glazers / Jim into making a statement.

Edit. Just seen @Marvin.'s post.

You would have to have some serious business status to force something like that
In the Spuds case they admitted to two enquires and so they made a statement that they have no intention to sell

If people are making that claim then the burden of truth is on them to prove. I am all ears.
like with everything to do with the 115 it is all about balance of probabilities on the one hand you have the theory that this was all planned and nothing to see here, move on everybody on the other hand you have the theory that its highly unusual to let someone oversee the appt of a new manager and a summer transfer spend and then have them step down three games into the season with a very shoddy succession plan and no fanfare after 25 years at the helm and there must be a reason for the unusual way this has taken place and it could be a number of reasons but due to the timing of the departure and the fact that levy has been highly instrumental in this whole thing since the very start , its not too much of a stretch to believe that it has something to do with it, if for no other reason that it was for something else then a stage managed exit with a reasonable succession plan would have been far easier to put in place.

Not buying Levy and Khaldoon being mates of some sort and they enjoy each others company.

Levy is the head of a Spectre like organisation trying to bring us down and he is effectively the Blofeld figure.

He has been trying to systematically bring our football club down to its knees for the past 15 years and in doing so allowed a media mafia to be created that has formulated a narrative that smears our name with no punishment. This narrative has been set in stone so much so now that we could be found innocent of every charge yet the story will still remain that we have cheated the system.

Let's not forget the likely tens if not hundreds of millions him and his cronies have cost us in legal bills.
I agree, that and the fact spurs are Jewish club and are owner is Muslim I just can't see it
