Adam Wharton

Wharton is good, I'd be happy with us going for him. However, the more I see Elliot Anderson, the more impressed I am. I know we kept a close eye on Gibbs-White, hopefully we've moved on, but not very far.
I think we should be looking at signing both. We're a bit short in the middle now and these 2 look like they fit our profile.

Not very likely we buy 2, we will have Rodri, Gonzalez, Reijnders, Foden, Cherki, probably Nypan, doubt we’d add more than 1 to that.If any depending how those 6 go this season.

80 mill on a hit signing is worth any number of 40 million flops
If the hit signing pays off, look at how much shite united have thrown 80 million at,and once they got a 40 million player who was actually worth 80 million

Camavinga compliments Rodri better imo. Covers ground, wins duels and versatile. Wharton … you’re paying a premium because he’s English. The only thing I like about him is his forward passes and through balls. But we have Cherki and Foden for that

Foden and Cherki thread passes higher up the field. We need someone who can pass through the lines like Wharton or Hugo Larsson. The only one that can do that right now is Rodri. When are CBs also lack ability to break the line then the problem is accentuated.

But but surely thats Bellingham!! (In his own eyes at least).

He's their current golden goose but Valverde makes them tick, they would be fucked without him doing the job of 3 men every week while the stars stroll around waiting for the ball.

He'd probably be even better for another team where he could have more license to get forward and create as he's brilliant technically and has a great shot and cross on him.

Gives me Jonny Stones vibes. A mint, young English footballer who would suit us down to a tee.

We bought Reinjders to do the things prime Gundo used to do. He can do that. I agree our defenders can’t break the line like Dias but if you look at the way we wanna play. We don’t play out from the back anymore. We’re asked to win balls in the air, get the 2nd ball, fast movements to release Haaland and later Marmoush. They can’t be similar to Reinjders or Nico G imo. They have to be different and offer something we desperately need.
