Blimey! She had a great innings. Used to like that when I was a kid. Great comedy actress. RIP

She was great as both Hyacinth, as well as Kitty on Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV.
Hyacinth was so close to my Mum's behaviour that me and my sisters couldn't make eye contact with each other when it was on TV!

Bucket - spelled that way but pronounced Bouquet .............. Patricia was a great actress and leaves behind a legacy almost unbeaten - RIP

And a Tony award in 1968 - the news showed a clip of her being given the award by Groucho Marx - which was remarkable because it wasn't a successful run in New York.

Patricia was a brilliant actress, but I never liked Keeping Up Appearances.

I thought the comedy content was puerile.

Keeping Up Appearances was the BBC's biggest worldwide seller, back in the 90's in Amman Jordan I turned on the TV and there it was, I tuned into Israeli TV an hour later it was on there. A few years later in a New York hotel room in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep I turned on the TV and there she was criticising Richard's driving.

Agree. As much as I thought she was a wonderful all-round actress, I found the show got repetitive and annoying as fuck come the end of an episode, but I think that was somewhat the point too. It could be genuinely funny though in flashes.
 
The reason Keeping Up Appearances was so popular all over the world, is that in every culture there is...
