The "which famous person died today" thread

Chess Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky has just passed away at the age of 29

Big online presence in the chess world as a streamer, commentator and coach. Was shocked to see the news this evening.

Former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik was at his throat the past year or so on a crusade to prove he was a cheater and even up to yesterday noted a difference in his mood and appearance online but continued his harassment.

Gutted to hear this one, David Ball from Soft Cell has passed away.
I was blasting this tune out in the car only yesterday

Brilliant 12" mix of Torch and the b side insecure me was also a classic
RIP Dave Ball.
Brilliant brilliant artist.
Very sad news.

I had all the 12 inches, What? being my favourite as well as the 12 inch instrumental of Say Hello..... which I'd sing along to in the car and fail at the high notes at the end.
And the line in Insecure me that cracks me up to this day is (something like) "I cant think too much about the future, when I'm busy covering up my past"

What was a brilliant song
Oh baby
What can I do when I still love you
What can I say when I still want you
What can I do
What can I say
You'll never know this way.
bedsitter , say hello wave goodbye, memorabilia and lots more seen them live 02 London great group rip

As well as Soft Cell, his 90s act The Grid were also fantastic. Texas Cowboys and Swamp Thing indirectly created Cotton Eye Joe and all of Avicii's career!

RIP Prunella Scales.

Anyone hear the interview clip on 5 Live when she went to see John Cleese after he'd sent her the scripts prior to filming Fawlty Towers ? He asked her if she liked what she'd read and she said yes.
"Any questions then ?", he asked her.
"Yes, why did Basil and Sybil get married ?" she replied.

Too many highlights to list but thrashing O’Reilly with an umbrella was amongst the most memorable, along with comments like calling Basil “an ageing, brilliantined stick insect”.
RIP
