Basically many of our issues stem from the summer we failed to sign Bellingham or Rice.

There not game controllers ones a 6 and the others an 8/10 i mean game conductors.

If he's good enough, we should go for him regardless of what happens with Rodri as we'll need to replace Kovacic anyway. If age is a concern, we can try for Wharton if he wants to move.

We have the homegrown issue as well, of course, but I’m just not convinced that we’d want three such defensive midfielders, all established and all competing for the same spot. He’s physically more akin to Rodri than Gonzalez, but whether he has the technical ability, I’m less sure.

Bouaddi would be a more astute purchase and, unlike Wharton, would not fetch a king’s ransom.

Hope so he's still got quality and seemed desperate to come play for us a few years ago, think Bernardo will be off in the summer, so could be a good natural replacement for him. Maybe Ortega going the other way or Echeverri/Simpson-Pusey etc who haven't been getting a lot of game time?

and also he goes missing in tougher games, he is a flat track bully and not good enough for a team chasing titles

A player that is certainly in form this season and one worth keeping an eye on is Ismael Sabari, midfielder at PSV. He’s now scored 10 in 15 and has filled out physically. Because of Morocco’s involvement in AFCON, I’m not sure that he’d move in the January window, but if we’re looking for a bit more heft and height, he could be an option.
