Spookily (well, to me at any rate..) I recently read a biography on the famous 18th/19th century astronomer William Herschel.
Among his many discoveries found when peering through his telescope (and including seeing what goes on at night upstairs at No.52 across the street.. brazen!), was the 'Splinter Galaxy' which is (spookily, as I say) numbered both 5906 and 5907.
The 'Splinter Galaxy' is approximately 450 million light years away from Earth. What is also known about it is that, even at that distance from us, it is yet nearer to us than the decision on the 115/130 ever will be..!
