PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

For balance, I also asked this question:

"What are the chances that @halfcenturyup, a poster on the Manchester City fan forum, is right that the Premier League don't have a snowball's chance in hell of proving the most serious allegations in their 115 case against Man City?

At least it's a complement.

At least you got a constructive answer, ChatGPT just told me to fuck off.

I've always taken the view that the announcement would be best suited to a much busier time of year rather than in an International break where there's fuck all else to talk about. Christmas is a busy period, the games come thick and fast and whilst it will inevitably make headlines there are plenty of games that will push it down the agenda fairly quickly.

I understand, ultimately, that you always state you do not know when it will be released, that is your constant fallback,
but, and correct me if i am wrong here, nobody else on this thread other than you has suggested that the likelihood is the news will drop during an international break, or at least it was you that first came up with the idea and others have followed.

A fairly significant amount of people, quite a lot in fact, have followed your lead on this matter and taken it up as a strong possibility, until it has almost pretty much become the accepted reality by many, that an international break is most likely when it will happen, yet your only evidence to support the suggestion that it makes sense is a car finance case which has absolutely no similarities to our situation whatsoever.

You are considered by many as a respected poster, have a strong background and undoubtedly are more knowledgeable than many of us on here, but i'm still struggling to understand how you are consistently saying (and yes i know you always caveat it by saying it's only guesswork) that you have a feeling it will be during an international break when there is nothing at all factual to back up your claim other than you think it is a natural window for such news.

Unless i am missing something, you seem to be doing quite a lot of assuming without having anything genuine to back it with.

(once again, i'm not having a pop at you, i'm just seeking clarity)
Waste of words. Make your own judgment based on whatever info you have or can find. As I do.

Christmas morning would be ideal

Are you lot just to lazy to use Google?
The decision was published last Thursday but you lot can't be arsed looking, just wait for soneone else to do the graft.

And no, I ain't telling you, look it up.

It would!

What I've always said is that this is only good v evil if we're guilty. The PL can escape criticism quite easily if we're cleared because they just spin it as a great result in confirming the integrity of the competition and that they're happy with the result but based on evidence they had at the time had to bring the charges. They then disappear into the background with no need to comment further. If it comes out at Christmas you get a round of press conferences where all manager's are asked their thoughts and will say "we have to trust the verdict" and then the results come in and you have less thirst for the stories from the Guardian or whoever else that suggest we paid our way out of it or "just because we were cleared doesn't mean we are innocent". The next witch-hunt against our club begins, but people care a lot less because there's lots of football to watch, work do's, family do's and all the other Christmas festivities to enjoy instead.

The other choice is to wait for a day there's a big non-sporting headline - like tax increases in the budget and drop it then to at least keep it off the front pages. I'm not sure it's front page news anyway to be honest, I don't know how many people are interested or aware outside of the admittedly vast football community.

I think we need another Pannick email. See what the main man has to say about this.
My email sent 9:05 today.

Dear David

Thank you for your reply to my initial enquiry.

A month on from this, are we still in the same situation of not knowing the outcome to the case? Some people have suggested that the outcome might be released during the November international football break. Do you have any indication about when the outcome will be made public?

Many thanks

His reply at 9:55 today:

No developments. No fresh information.

Regards

David

As before, this is a genuine email from me and a genuine response from David, even though I haven't screen shot the message this time.
