Thought Trespasses was ok , I tend to feel that anything about the Troubles is slanted towards how poorly the British behaved in N.I so tend not to watch them.
That will be my inherent bias tho as well .
Might give this a go now after the comments.

I'm on episode 3 and it is an interesting watch with superb performances from the two sisters. The troubles as seen through an IRA sympathetic lens so far.

edit. reading the comments above that may change in later episodes. the more light that is shone on the recent history of Northern Ireland the better for me.

If you watch ‘The Disappeared’ you will see what a lying, conniving bastard he is. It is on Prime. Another good insight into this story is ‘ I, Dolours’ also on prime. He’s bang to rights.

Not sure. I did read one take that they ran out of cash for it. Hard to believe with Netflix, but maybe they meant relative to its viewing figures. There was obviously lots of period detail which will have cost, though many scenes were indoors…

I think it’s one of those slow burners whose reputation and appreciation has (rightly) grown over time.

Maybe watch it and just see for yourself and ignore reviews. Its a very delicate, complicated, damaging, difficult period of history of peoples lives and it reflects all that. Just watch it, it is compelling viewing imho

It didn't, it was put on an indefinite hiatus but never actually cancelled like so many other Netflix shows.

Allegedly cost a lot of money for something that was more of a sleeper hit for them which was hard for netflix to justify but main reason was fincher had other projects he was tied to.
