I’m not sure the set piece coach has had that much to do with it. There’s been no fancy choreographed moves with everyone standing in a circle doing the Ring-a-ring-a-roses in the D before running into the six yard box in V-formation, it’s just been good crosses finding a man in the box who’s been determined to reach the ball.
Someone who should be praised (despite some bobbins crosses last night) is Foden who’s set piece delivery has improved a lot in 2025 and for me he puts in a better corner than De Bruyne ever did (which is strange because DB was the best open play crosser and passer of the ball I’ve ever seen).
Foden’s technique replicates ex-RL player, Kevin Sinfield,’s penalty kicking technique - body shape, where he places his head and shoulders after kicking it.
