Think you misunderstand Pep.

Working with Foden is a joy and a gift, says Guardiola
Pep Guardiola says it’s a joy, pleasure and a gift to have a rejuvenated Phil Foden back to his scintillating best for Manchester City.www.mancity.com
Pep Guardiola: “Absolutely [more to come from Phil Foden]. He has a lot of margin to understand the game. He will not improve his incredible quality, because it’s top. But understanding the game, in certain moments the way you have to play, the way you have to accelerate or decelerate the game. The timing, the tempo. He will get it. Everyone has margin to improve. Everyone.”
We weren't getting our attacking playmakers in the game, period. We were rushing our build-up.Well that was the crux of my post, understanding the game; intelligence to be dominant in that position
Sundays first half was same, Foden didn't know how to get in the game.
You were pretty damming. Pep clearly has great faith in Phil.Well that was the crux of my post, understanding the game; intelligence to be dominant in that position

That is one silly statement...You were pretty damming. Pep clearly has great faith in Phil.
But your post was not referring to his recent dip in form (which has been caused by several reasons) - it implied he was not good enough : which is ridiculous
He lacks the intelligence to be our main playmaker.
The real problem is his speed of thought and the execution passing and shooting, which just aren’t at the level the greats in that position have.
it was. I couldn’t let it go without challenging it. Phil is one of the best players in the PL and for city fan to under- appreciate him to that extent, is bewildering. That is one silly statement...
Foden was invisible the whole game until he scored. Guess I watched a different gameWe weren't getting our attacking playmakers in the game, period. We were rushing our build-up.
Foden sat a lot deeper in the 2nd and it made us more comfortable in build-up and we were getting better connectivity over the pitch.
Agree. Any City fan who downplays Phil has to be looked at with a side eye. Critiquing a performance is one thing. Trying to insist he's not a great player is another matter altogether. Not only is that objectively wrong, but it warrants a swift dismissal and a nice dose of ridicule.it was. I couldn’t let it go without challenging it. He's definitely a 'confidence' player, once he scored he looked a different player.Came alive once he scored, which is something I've seen before from him
I think sometimes he needs something to happen to get the confidence to take charge, once he scored he was popping up everywhere

What slump are we talking about?! I keep seeing bits about poor performance in this theead. Last season I am presuming? Surely not this season? 14 g/a in December??Nothing wrong with Phil phyiscally. Mental issues haven't probabily haven't helped with his slump.
