I would be more than satisfied to find this situation on September 1st, 2026. Plus, having reliable academy players like Alleyne. I am not sure how the financial math worked for Semenyo and Guehi this window, but I think it would be perfectly manageable to bring in only Anderson for the entire summer transfer window? The rest are all returnees from loan. However, I fear the unsolvable knot will still be how to part ways with Ortega, Stones, Aké, Bernardo, Kovacic, Grealish, and most difficult of all, Phillips. That will truly be Viana's toughest job.

I would agree with all of that but add the Akanji vibes due to Lucumi age being close to that of Akanji age when he signed for City. Not to sure myself what he is like as a defender, although heard of him I have not paid to much attention.

I’m curious to know how much the WC will change the names on people’s lists of targets. I never followed that level of detail previously, so curious if others have felt like it changed things significantly - for us or other teams?

One random thing I’ve noticed is the diversity of the squad ever since Viana took charge as DOF has been interesting:
- Khusanov is the first ever Uzbek that plays for City.
- Then came Marmoush, first ever Egyptian.
- Now Semenyo is the first Ghanaian.
- Juma Bah that was signed last year is the first ever Sierra Leonean.
Personally, I like it. Helps grow the fanbase too.

Another CB from Bundesliga is Danhilo Doekhi he is predominantly the right sided CB but Dias can cover the left side comfortably when he is fit to cover Gvardiol.
Doekhi is out of contract with Union Berlin this summer. He has 6 goals from 18 matches, not missed a single minute this season or last for them.
Linked with Leeds and Villa this window, Leeds close to signing him. €13m would get him.

Have we got a slightly lack of older youth players just thinking who can step up or be sold for decent money. Feel like we have done so well at this in recent years that we are now short of options as they have been sold or integrated into the first team and we don’t have as much left. Cannot think of any we will sell in the summer. Only ones are possibly young players we have bought
