Loan Watch - 2025/26

I haven't seen him play for Boro....but not trusting a manager because he doesn't pick him is daft.....maybe the 'new manager' is a better manager/coach and playing him less is the right decision?
JSP.....maybe he's played 90mins in each of the last 3, because the German club have similar CB injuries as we have? I don't know, but I don't think he was loaned by Celtic to be a starter....and if those in front play well enough, he won't get minutes....the SPL don't squad rotate like the PL either.
I think City need to be a bit more aware of potential playing time, before loaning....but no doubt, some don't play, because outside VERY GOOD City youth teams, when they need to step up, they haven't 'got it'....that's part of City finding out if they will ever make it.
I never said I don't trust this manager because he hasn't picked him. I said generally I don't trust a lot of managers to accurately judge how good a young player is, especially one on loan. Maybe playing him less is the right decision.

However, we did loan him to a team managed by Rob Edwards, who plays a certain way and it's possible that the new manager doesn't like Nypan as he doesn't suit his style of play. Or a personality clash. There loads of examples of young players not being played or having bad loan spell going to have great careers. So obviously the talent was there, but the manager couldn't get it out of them.

I think Koln do have injuries at CB, but still to trust JSP to play in the bundesliga which is a much higher level than the scottish league indicates that he is rated differently by different managers, which might be happening to Nypan. Why wouldn't a team in the SPL rotate though?

Agree on the last point, which is why I think Nypan should be recalled and sent somewhere else.

....because most of them don't play too many games, and the 'top' 2 or 3 sides can happily play pretty much the same 11 every week, because bar against each other....the games are little more than training sessions.
But Celtic play 38 league games like us, had to have a champs league play off and then are in Europa league, and have two cups like we do? For JSP not to get any minutes in matches that are basically training matches shows the loan was useless when he could be playing in the bundesliga.

Mubama broken leg and now this

Jack Grealish has sustained a suspected stress fracture in his foot that could keep him out for a number of months. The attacker will be seen by a specialist in the coming days, after which his prognosis will become clearer.

That's what David Ornstein is reporting in The Athletic.

Kabore must be fit again. I was just looking at highlights of the Afcon and I'm sure I spotted him for Burkina Faso.
He must have joined up with them during the tournament.

Anyone know how Galvez is getting on
He seems to always start for his team and almost always plays 90 minutes. They are second in their division as well, so it sounds promising.

Yes, he is back at Wrexham. Has been on the bench since his return, but came off the bench last night.

the BBC are reporting that Everton and City are in discussions over where Grealish is to receive treatment.

You just know he’s going to end up back on the City payroll and just like Phillips will end up getting paid a fortune to do nothing.

Simposon-Pusey seems to have found a better fit in the Bundesliga with FC Köln (Cologne). Played full 90 in all 3 matches. Watched him against Bayern and he looked pretty good.
Now he is injured out until mid feb

Good experience for Jaden Heskey as well over at Wednesday. Hopeless fight at the bortom but at least he is getting a lot of minutes of Championship football which do him the world of good.

If he has a stress fracture, there's not much he can do really.

I know we are stacked in defence as it is, but I really hope Reis is brought back next season to avoid the risk of losing him to one of the big Spanish clubs.

He played really well against both Barcelona and Real Madrid and I hope he gets his chance at City.

I am still hopeful that Juma Bah could come good too, but would make sense for another loan for him for a year.

I’m not sure what’s happening with Nypan, the Boro fans seem to be happy with him whenever he gets minutes, but understand he played with U21s recently. Surprised he’s not been moved on in Jan as he is behind 3 very decent CMs in Hackney, Browne and Morris.

Hoping Echeverri tears it up in La liga and is actually given a chance to play
