I think this will depend on what happens after Trump goes, given the sheer size and diversity of the economic base here. Not to be discounted, population growth is slowing to a crawl thanks to anti-immigration policies and demography, plus lifestyle changes among Americans. But I have pretty much lost hope that guardrails will be erected by Congress or via the Amendment process to ensure a Trumpian clone regardless of party continues can/will be removed if elected. I am not sure the democratic process as we have known it since Nixon survives this. The impeachment process was a fail-safe, and if elected representatives regardless of party abandon their oaths of offices and face no consequences, then it is that no longer, and the people have no between-elections protection. If that's the case, then I cannot blame the rest of the US's ally/trade partner base for losing faith and trust permanently, whether a little, a lot or all of it, and that cannot help the dollar as a reserve currency.

It’s the same over here where boring is deemed nigh on treacherous.

It’s all about the anger and vengeance.

Hopefully we’ve got enough sensible people left, but if not, we’re in for the same from 2029.

You only need to have a quick glance at the Labour thread here, who are doing pretty poorly, but in comparison to any of the other parties, they’re actually saving the country from chaos that Reform would cause.

Very sad to read that, mate. My genuine sympathy. Half expecting to feel the same about the UK in a few years. The world seems to be turning nastier and nastier.

And it’s ‘Boddies’. Or at least it always was. Conventions can change tbf. So maybe it’s ‘Boddy’s’ now. Tough one because of the ‘i’ in Boddington. Fuck knows!

but I just watched Trump rambling away in a presser and the economy is wonderful all the numbers are up and ALL cars will be made in US factories that will be built very soon, all steel used in the USA will be locally produced and the stock market has never been higher and this will provide jobs for the people who he says didn't lose their jobs - they just give him bullshit to read out don't they?
 
Apparently America has regular 80 year identity shifts. I've copied a small amount, but it goes back to the 17th century.

Aye, all while tanking the dollar. Stocks are shares of actual real stuff, so no wonder they've gone up in value relative to a currency that's worth less and less. Same reason gold has gone up.

He rambled on about car production coming back to the USA and named Germany as one country thry were coming from. As far as I can see Ford-Germany- GMbh MADE Fiesta and Mondeo models - both long since discontinued by Ford.

Truth Denial Syndrome run amok!

Something every business owner knows.. if you insult your customers and tell them to fuck off, they don't buy from you anymore!

Well when the MAGA insulted their customers.. they stopped buying American goods and instead made trade deals elsewhere. And due to the trade deal EU just made with India.. Ferrari's and Lamborghini's will be cheaper than American SUV's. Guess what they will buy instead of American vehicles?

Same with China and Canada. Canada is importing EV's that cost 1/2 of American EV's. Guess what Canadians will be buying.

Americans have basically shut themselves out of world trade for generations just so they can have a white only country!

Well it will work.. people that are smart and have better prospects overseas will leave for better options.

Even the working girls know where the money lies.. (and ofcourse MAGA isn't too happy)



This is the future here now.. unless you're a big shot.. you're going to want to train in a field that can make you leave this shithole country behind.. just like Filipino nurses, Indian software engineers, Russian brides.. etc

Melania can give the girls pointers on what's required lol

do it sooner rather than later too - once they think they have got rid of all the illegals - once nobody is coming there either as tourist or qualified to work there the next logical move is to PREVENT people from leaving because they will still need worker bees so they will stop people leaving the shit hole they have created
