US Politics Thread

Have these guys got a functioning Congress yet? Seems strange that McCarthy gets the elbow and everything has just stopped. Surely there’s some level of urgency to replace him given there’s what… 30 days (?) until they enter another shut down.

They should stick Jeffries in temporarily as caretaker just to pass the appropriations bills and take that bargaining chip off the table on an agreement that he then stands down and lets the GOP eat themselves alive again. They won’t. But that’s what a sensible country might do.

Would even Matt Gaetz and the other dozen maga Lunatics not vote a Republican they dislike to be House speaker, Which in turn Democrats would have the numbers for Jeffries? Are they that deranged they'd let the Democrats have a free run?

You have a party that wants to run the government in to the ground. And individually they all crave attention from news outlets that just look for the shittiest reasoning and will happily run with lies. So it's going to be dysfunctional. It's no surprise there is no end in sight.
