I ran up a £200 phone bill in the eighties mainly due to club call, partly due to Linda Lusardi. Dad went mental but BT couldn’t prove it. 2 months later itemised billing was introduced. You can blame me for that.

A very good mate of mine won’t let it drop. He’s well-adjusted, amenable, chilled out, intelligent… we went out for a meal not long ago as he was passing through Birmingham and had a good old natter and catch up about life in general. But when the subject of City comes up it’s like Jekyll and Hyde - you can feel the bile from the other end of the chat group. He is so convinced we are cheats and guilty and deserve the book being thrown at us. Every loss or draw, he’s crowing in our Whatsapp group. Even when I was complaining about Solanke’s first goal at the weekend being a foul, the response was “City have unashamedly and blatantly broken FFP rules for years so it’s only fair really.” I mean, where do you even start?

I’m at the stage now where I don’t care if we’re guilty as sin, I just want it over with.

Having an opinion is one thing but the way he behaves does not suggest friend material let alone "very good mate". Still, that's your choice. Sounds like a complete twat. I have zero tolerance for such people and they get short shift. I dont have any friends like that and if they behaved like that I would no longer be spending time with them.

We are not universally despised in my experience. Far from it. I don't get that feeling at all from speaking to many supporters of other clubs. Of course some people think City are guilty, possibly a majority but certainly not all. Plus i have lost count of the number of times I've been to European games and found myself talking to fans of other clubs who have come to watch City e.g the affable Wednesday, Barnsley and Huddersfield blokes with their sons earlier this season on the tram back to Ashton. Only today was talking footy with a colleague who supports Pompey and the 115 has never ever come up in conversation. Just chat about respective results, Paul Walsh, Gerry fuckin Creaney normal piss taking about other things normally like Lee Badbuy and Eyal Berkovic.

Does anyone feel like the club should be doing more ? One statement about irrefutable evidence and not much more from khaldoon at the end of season updates …. It just feels hard on us fans that have to suffer.

Or is Khaldoon just keeping his gunpowder dry. Because if City are exonerated there will be an explosion of hate against the club which will make the last three years seem like a kiddies tea party. Then us fans will be glad he kept his powder dry, as we will witness the biggest firework display, releasing all the tension built up by these ridiculous charges. The joy we will feel will carry forward for the next generation to enjoy the successes of the best run club in football history.

Most fanbases outside of Liverpool/Utd/Arsenal generally don’t mind us or actively like us. It’s the venom we get from those three set of twats and the arseholes in the media, where the anti City bile comes from.
