North Stand Construction Discussion

Agreed in part but all previous renders showed 3 screens under the etfe roof ! So assume it’s a design change ? Tbf 3 screens did seem a bit of overkill :-)
There was (presumably still is) 3 screens planned for the back of City Square. One big one in the centre which appears to be connected to the back wall. The other two which flank it are much smaller and look to be located level with the front of the platform where the presenters stand.

There was indeed a design change to the screens under the etfe roof, but I don’t think the number had changed. Can't fully remember what it was now, think it was to accommodate the big drainage pipes, will check at some point. Think it's more that one of the screens sits firther forward in this case.

Edit seen already answered.

Looking at the progress , the stand has got very little chance of opening in the next few months .
The brickwork on the hotel has gone a very ugly shade of white in large areas , in the latest CP overview he mentions salts What causes it ? Is it due to poor quality bricks / mortar or is it normal

Efflorescence , ie salts leaching out of brick is a common event , it will pass in time , not a defect :-)

Technically, it is.

And it won't pass in time as such, well it will, but quite a lot of time during which it will reoccur and get worse.

Looking at the outside of the stand and the fan zone tonight, I don't think it will be ready this season. There is loads of work still to do. Of course I could be wrong.

Last I heard was may for the stand .
They are currently in the process of fitting out the interior space , concourse spaces etc .

Remember we have concerts there in June so if not open for football it could be open for then

Wasn't the original timeline to have it open around about now? I'm sure there was some discussion months ago that it could be open for the Chelsea game.

Why will it get worse.

Because the moisture in the weather will keep bringing more and more salts out. This can take a good 2 or 3 years before it stops happening.

While it is very much 'common', it is not really 'normal'. Otherwise you'd be seeing it on every building, which you dont. And there are indeed good ways to avoid it.
