North Stand Construction Discussion

Just back from the etihad, there's been a bit of work done this week. Video here. Have a good weekend everyone.

Just a thought about the area where the life’s were you mentioned the spider from the roof the area almost complete where the lift was on the south face west end, pretty sure they used cherry pickers for access

Still amazes me the skyline of town now, just used to be CIS that was of any size, would have loved me old fella and his 5 brothers ( all blues) all long gone now and all originally from Ancoats to have seen it.

Agreed. The CIS tower was the lone "skyscraper" for years (you could see the illuminated letters from our house in Longsight). Then the Arndale tower came along*. But this past 15-20 years has been crazy for the "Manc-hattan" skyline....

With apparently plenty more to come. Maybe it's just me channeling my inner FOC, but the city seems to be losing some of its character with these buildings.

*I think the CIS was the first?

Seconded.

Can you please stick to topic Jim, otherwise you’ll be demoted from your moderator role, and you will also receive a 1 week ban from the thread.

If you would like to discuss this further, please PM me.

Thank you.

"An" admin? I'm pretty sure there's only one, unless @Ric has been keeping a secret for years!

You need to speak to your parole officer about getting out more!

The Croydon of the north. Soulless monstrosities most of which will stand half empty in 20 years time.

For me it's just change and most people probably all FOCs do not like change, Manchester has a vision it wants to be the best it can be.
Greater Manchester is all changing and hopefully it will succeed, It isn't built for us nor I'm guessing that most of us will not use the new structures and facilities, I wish them all the best though.

I would go back to how it was 30 years ago in a heart beat, Us FOCs just don't like change do we.

I’m not an expert on construction by any means, but that looks fucking shite. Is this normal/safe?

You’ve lost your sense of humour Jim. :-(

You would normally put a ;-) or a :-) in your post.
