Gvardiol is going to play as a left back once he returns. No chance him or Guehi sit on the bench.
100%, there’s a reason why there was zero interest in him from other clubs I actually think Nico looks better at LB

Reality.. Walker wasn't even trusted to play RB vs Bayern or Inter in the TREBLE season.
So did your wife get knocked up by Nunes or something?? LOL
Because your last 500 posts have been downright toxic about Nunes.
Have you ever thought the problem isn't Nunes but the midfielders who give the ball away cheaply, don't press, leave the midfield wide open for an easy counter that puts the defenders in an unrecoverable position?

Being disingenuous leaving out the Madrid games where Walker pocketed Vinicius and was trusted to play against one of the best players in the world at the time.
Nunes’ lawyers in this forum are unable to swallow the pill that he is Delph 2.0. Gets the job done but clearly not at the level we require. He is playing games because his sole competitor is Rico Lewis.

Ive said he has massively improved at right back but he aint top class...at present he is the best option we have but we need better.
Ive also clearly said the midfield is a huge problem....

Unlike a lot on here I don’t want Nunes or Lewis to go. However could we manage another RB Trent ? Too good an opportunity to miss if they want rid at a decent price plus home grown plus the media.
Could Nunes turn back into a midfielder ? Given out weakness and his energy ? Plus Rodri needing more rest and recovery
Alex Scott the lad at Bournmouth been watching them a couple times now, he's not a player that makes you stand up, he's a player that controls everything in their midfield keeps it calm and his passing is like a City player, I did see we are monitoring him I wonder how much Bournemouth would want for him. He's a Proper deep lying playmaker.

On a day where he’s done well.
Football is about the tough decisions and replacing Nunes with a better RB is not a tough decision.
I think he has done really well and deserves praise and even as a foreign place if he wanted to stay and be back up, I think he deserves it.
But, our scouts should be able to find someone better.
Which would then have as back RB or being sold to a team (mid prem in CM), what won’t happen is one of the best teams in Europe signing him as a RB.
And there you have your barometer.
That all said, I think he has excelled himself and have nothing but good things to say.
But facts are the facts, probably most obvious area we can improve

Bernardo and Kovacic will need replacing in the Summer. AM/CM.
Anderson is the obvious CM upgrade for Kovacic.
Who is Bernardo’s replacement? I think City thought it might have been Echeverri but that’s not looking great right now. He is difficult to replicate.

Anderson is nothing like Bernardo.
I mean...you compared Echeverri to Bernardo and they couldn't be more different.
Bernardo's role in this team is pressing, box to box, retaining possession, linking defence and attack. That's everything Anderson is excellent at.
Echeverri is a dribbly wide 10...Bernardo hasn't been that since 2018.

Nobody is, like in the past we won't replace like with like with like but Anderson and O'Reilly is definitely plenty to replace Bernardo and Kovacic.
He replaces the profile if midfielder we need, even if they arent exactly the same player.
He keeps the ball well, runs alot and gets stuck in, and is a defensive beast.
We havent had Kovacic this whole season so I suspect we dont buy a backup there since Rodri returned.
Just Anderson will do.

If you think Echeverri can play in the middle like Bernie has done for us then your simply insane.
O Reilly has done well in the middle, so I think along with Anderson, another fullback would be ideal.
It would be great if we could get a fullback who can play BOTH sides as we need a backup ok both sides, or maybe its good to have O Reilly rotate there and just stick to a pure RB.
