North Stand Construction Discussion

I've been saying this for years, before this thread. Your ability to take and find images is incredible.

Thanks, Coatigan.

It’s decades of practice via SSC-MCR.

It’s knowing and searching the right websites and saving the companies and people who post the pictures and information that get updated overtime. Linkedin, Instagram, X, Tick Tock, PNW, Google images from search, etc,

There’s also an element of luck when you stumble across pictures and information. I have a set amount of websites I trawl through everyday. Some days there’s new pictures and images. Other days there's nothing.

I find the Spring and Summer months are better for pictures and information due to the better weather. During the Christmas construction break for two weeks there is nothing. Arrrgh!

I’m due another NS picture update soon. Hopefully on Sunday, weather permitting. And a city centre picture construction update.

One of my favourite times of the year is the Great Manchester Run which is on the 31 of May this year. The Mancunian Way is closed to traffic. It means anyone can walk along the Mancunian Way. The views of the city centre and the city centre skyline are great from the Mancunian Way. You should all walk along the Mancunian Way if you get the opportunity on the 31st of May. I get some brilliant city centre construction pictures from up there, especially around First Street. There’s 2 new towers going up on First Street ATM.

Let me give you an example. Quickly off topic.

Doing some research

Manchester City has 66 executive boxes

Spurs 80 + 8000 seats in H Club, Stratus, Tunnel Club

Arsenal has 146 executive boxes

Man Utd 140 executive boxes

Aston Villa 96 executive boxes

Liverpool 30 executive boxes

As you can see, we are behind a majority of the clubs.

If the club wanted to expand these kinds of facilities, maybe they should have done the East Stand or the Colin Bell and left the North Stand to be an atmospheric home end

If you look at the stadium above, every one of the clubs except Arsenal and Man City has a famous homeend

How would they add more boxes to the CB or East stand?

By expanding these stands instead of the North Stand

Designed by Populas as well, the Spurs stadium is the best in the UK

They have two lines of corporate sections on the East & West Stands, and they have a proper home end as well

Just look at the Spurs' layout, which we could have easily copied, and it works

What have we ended up you yourself said it was a Frankenstein stand, the New North Stand

A vast majority of the City wanted this at the end of their ground in the North Stand

Do they all have 400 room hotels?

You’ve not explained how’d they add more boxes. There’s literally no room for them unless they completely demolished the existing third tier and added another row on top of the existing ones - which would look absolutely shit.

You know what else would look shit? Expanded side stands with a tiny north stand.

I think he meant the north stand expansion would still happen, but without the boxes.

I don't think the boxes and the sky bar are an issue. The majority of people looking at it, even directly within the stadium didn't realise those boxes/suites were there.

The GA+ allocation (or both of them) and the lower capacity premium bars though could presumably be offered within either side stand, as all it is is padding and bar works. But it is also evident the club don't consider these within the north stand to be an issue, rightly or wrongly.

It’s alright he told the Brazilian family wearing Arsenal tops on my stadium tour today if they had tickets for tomorrow. And said if you don’t just pop to the shop and give them a price because they’d be happy to fill seats rather than leave empty???

Also said new stand is soon coming so plenty of opportunity then. Lol.

I for one have no clue who you're replying to or what any of that means.

Not hard to understand when people moan where tickets go too and pricing but you have a staff member on a tour telling a family wearing arsenal shirts pop to the ticket office and offer them a price as they would rather it be used than empty. But city fans are being charged £60 a ticket in some areas.
