Will we win the league this season? No

Anfield aside we’ve been dreadful nearly every second half of every game . We won’t last the distant . We are flagging , last night they battered us second half
You mustn’t have watched the 2nd half then and just listened to pundits

I've posted time and again that Arsenal are my favorite to win the league. Because they are so deep.

At the same time, I've posted that I could change my mind due to WInter window signings.

We absolutely nailed it on summer signings.

And moreover, we have fixed our shit midfield -with Nico O'Reilly. With Nico in mid, we have the potential to field an aggressive midfield who will press aggressively at all times to protect our high line and will make our system work.

If O'Reilly is injured and can't play... I think we're in trouble.

I still favor Arsenal to win the league - but, it's much, much, much more likely that we will win the league due to our summer signings and playing a much more ball-winning mid, featuring O'Reilly...

But what if O'Reilly, IMO our most important player ATM is injured... then we're fucked.
On depth, our subs bench vs Newcastle was impressive. It included:

Cherki, Foden, Reijnders, Khusanov, Gonzalez, Savinho and Stones with Doku and Kovacic hopefully close to comebacks.

On injuries all teams with top class players are similarly exposed.

That Khusanov lad is seriously rapid! I thought he was excellent when he came on.

Khusanov's power and speed reminds me of Kyle Walker. City look to have assembled a very strong group of central defenders: Guehi, Khusanov, Gvardiol and Vitor Reis (on loan at Girona and reportedly playing very well). 12 months ago this was a problem area for City but we seem to have addressed this very well through the transfer market.

Congratulations on beating Spurs so comprehensively. I think Arsenal were lucky to avoid a potential turning point in the game when Spurs 'equaliser' at 2-2 was ruled out but apart from that you dominated that game. Are you confident for Chelsea? They are inconsistent.

Agree that disallowed goal was very soft.

Re Chelsea - I'm reasonably confident for that game but far less confident for Brighton away which follows it TBH.

Anyone think United have an outside chance?

No?...
They have the slimmest possible chance, but they'd be relying on us and Arse, losing at least three matches, and winning every one of theirs.

Chelsea can't afford to lose at Arsenal. I think they will get a draw.

Leeds v City. 28th Feb. City Win.
Arsenal v Chelsea 1st Mar. Draw.
City v Forest. 4th Mar. City Win.
BHA v Arsenal. 4th Mar. Arsenal Win.

Ordinarily I'd be super confident we'd beat Chelsea but the reality is I'm not sure I can be confident about any game at the moment. I'd certainly not have expected to drop points at Wolves. I guess one game at a time and see what happens and in the mean time if City drop points then that eases the pressure a bit.

Squad depth isn't a matter of having gifted individuals ready to play. It's a matter of having backups for each role.

The biggest problem we've had this season, and in season last, is that our press is lacking. We play a ball control, high line system which breaks down if the ball turns over and we're not able to win it back quickly.

In recent games, we've finally solved this problem - with a midfield consisting of Rodri, Silva and O'Reilly.

IMO - O'Reilly is irreplaceable. If O'Reilly is injured, our solid midfield is going to suffer a major setback.

Silva too plays a key role. We're less able in mid if Silva can't start.

Rodri is very important - but Gonzalez can fill in.

TL/DR - although our midfield problems have finally been solved, we lack the ability to replace O'Reilly and likely Silva. And this is because we lack squad depth... we're not able to replace key midfield players (O'Reilly for sure, Silva probably, Rodri less so) with someone else without a meaningful drop in team performance.

Probably not. This City team concedes too many shots. We could get better, we could get lucky, but long term that has to change.

Missing prime Rodri. I hope he can get that back.
