Holidays

I should've been back from 6weeks in Goa on Wednesday just gone but ended up with a badly herniated disc, never know pain like it, left side absolute agony. Had a nerve blocker injection on Friday and hoping to be let of of hospital tomorrow, need to establish how successful it has been, no way could I spend 9hrs on a plane at the moment, not that there's any chance of booking one going in the direction of Blighty atm.

Potentially another 10days to put things to the test and build up some strength after spending best part of a week laid up in my accommodation wondering what the fuck I had done. I just thought it would ease on it's own but in the end was reduced to crawling out of the flat across a filthy pavement (iykyk) to the car.

Anyway, the weather's good, so I'll just bite down on my gumshield and try to make the most of my extended stay, not gonna be easy but needs must.

I'm missing our Sceptred Isle, never been away this long before.

There are going to be a few ruined holidays with Middle East developments. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain airports all closed. Massive impact on not only the middle east but the likes of Thailand, Vietnam and even Australia and NZ with all of the connecting flights.

Currently down south helping out with my granddaughter. Her other local grand dad is due back from Nepal this coming week. Some rearranging of my plans incoming I think...

Off to Ladenberg/Heidelberg for 4 nights during the WC at the end of June.

One of the guys is Danish based and we'll be having a day in Stuttgart meeting some fans of theirs he met at a friendly we played a few years ago. Probably have a day in Frankfurt too.

It's our WC gents piss-up every 4 years, £325 each, flights and Air B & B for 4 of us.

Nope we got the Cape of Good Hope on Monday then any day after that to go to Table Mountain.
Ha Yes we both got bladdered there on Wednesday - live bands do that to you :-)
Keep the reports coming mate, I'm there for the marathon at the end of may so will be nicking some of your ideas, might be wise to save the dizzys trip until after the race mind!!

I’m wondering the same thing.. we’ve been given Etihad flights to Singapore for a cruise and wondering if I can squeeze a discount out of them
Suspect there will be a few discounts on flights by Etihad at the moment. And Emirates. And Qatar Airways...

Will be cancelling or changing my holiday destination from Cyprus this summer now. Can't risk being stuck there with 4 kids. Government have just updated travel advice too that they can't rule out terror attacks.

Lovely Island hope they stay safe.

So what’s people thoughts on holidays for this year after this war, are we all staying at home or risking family lives

Paid a deposit for a Mediterranean cruise in June but will be cancelling it, cruise ships are sitting ducks.
Not to mention the flights to get to Europe.... I think we will be staying in our neck of the woods until all this shit is over. Bali or Thailand.

A friend of mine is stuck in Dubai for days now with his 4-year-old son. Honestly, I’d rather skip the trip and lose the holiday than be stuck there worrying about my kid’s safety all the time. Holiday discussions always bring out a wide range of ideas. Everyone has their own preferred way to spend time off. Some go for relaxation, others want something more active. It’s the kind of planning that often involves things like british airways when travel is part of it. Do you usually stick to the same type of holiday or try something new each time?
