North Stand Construction Discussion

Medlock Square will have a capacity, as it's enclosed, so will it be first come first served or ticketed? Before a match, it could be first come up to the limit, assuming there are no turnstiles behind it and you need to leave to get into the ground. But afterwards, you wouldn't want it to just be the first 3,000 or you'll end up with even more fans leaving early.

Waiting to see what's announced, but I'm expecting either you'll need to buy a ticket for it for each game, or yet another level of season ticket which gives access.

I've always thought and said that it will be a free for all and not controlled. I still do.

So they're gonna fill it with clowns like I witnessed last night, no doubt.

We were all level at 2-2 and this woman starts facetiming her mum; showing her the ground, fans, the game etc...
She was on for 10 minutes or so.

I know I have said this before, but this is a club that determines my moods.
Makes me leave work early.
Makes me spend money I don't have.

Why? Cos I LOVE Manchester City.

Yet they want to take tickets away from passionate fans who can't make 16 games and give em to people who use us like a fashion accessory.

If they were widening seats or removing them in the top 5-10 rows in the third, where it's like looking at a subutteo sized pitch, I could maybe get adding so many new ones.

Why are so many getting pissed off AGAIN about this? From what i have read over the last few months, most of you drink at a local pub and not at the ground, dont eat at the ground, buy fake football shirts etc so dont go in the club shop so nothing is going to change your routine?

I don't think most of us thought the North stand expansion, North Stand-level 2, the Fan zone, City Hall, etc would end up like this, is my guess.

I do eat and drink at the ground, park at the ground, i'd hoped to be able to stay in the new hotel (I have a round tip of 500 miles) so it does matter. I was hoping this might enhance the experience. It might but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree, lets wait and see before throwing toys out of the pram! Every City fan needs to try and be accommodated and its a business?! What you would like 50 other people dont so its best to not take it personal? If we want to go in and accept what it is then great, if you think something is too expensive and stay your normal routine then great but no one person has a right to dictate a price or what they want due to being an old school City fan? Matchday income will only ever be boosted by tourist fans and hospitality and thats just a fact! Football seems to be the only industry where fans tell you what price they want to pay for tickets, beer, drinks, merchandise to keep their costs down but then want £100m world class players on £400-500,000 a week and wonder with all the FFP and PSR rules where the money comes from?! After a while, the tale cant wag the dog.

I imagine because they will see it as going from this

For what it's worth, this part of it is exactly what I thought it would be. Give or take the big club badge whose removal I lament as much as anyone.

From the start of the PA plans being available, I have been suggestively dropping in my running 'wagamama' joke, and other such comments.

This is not a defence of it in any capacity, nor am I trying to convince you or anyone, because it is pretty clear the club are pushing an image of a gentrified football experience. But.. for some balance and context, it is worth noting these videos and promotion material images and slogans are not produced to target you or general or legacy fans. They are there to attract funders, investors, potential tenants, future hotel guests and interest from people otherwise detached from football.

Ultimately, supporters Can still make this what it could be, if 3000 City fans show up, then that atmosphere will should there. Even if while slurping wagamama bowls ;).

Edit - specific to this area that is, not extening it to the new City Hall proposals, which is another discussion and one I have pivoted on.

Top pictures at night time and new ones in the day and at dusk? We are know that the big screens will not show that shitting Medlock on the big screens as well? Taking our badge off the glass has pissed me off though but everything else looks the same?

I think it is more that a lot of blue has been removed, and city tops and scarves replaced with leather and tweed. And the badge etc.

I'm just commenting on how I think people excited for this might be seeing it fwiw. My view on it (this element of it) hasn't changed.
