PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

As a small business owner myself I feel exactly the same way. I'm too old now and the mrs in particular has too many family ties but if it was just me and I was a bit younger I'd be off like a shot. Not only the tax but all this insane net zero bollocks, which is forging prices if energy and thus everything else up, and from a motorists' view the way we're fleeced then persecuted thanks to this mad obsession with speed and safety, the immigration problem... most registered news born boys name is now Mohammed that tells you all you need to know...

I could go on all night but you get the idea. None of these issues used to exist at all and don't have to now.
Bingo!

I just read a quote in the last five minutes (about a JD Vance visit to the Hungarian elections), and it asked the question - does the media now inform, or influence?

We have allowed political parties, working in conjunction with what are effectively their own media channels, to build more and more resentment and switch the blame to the things they don't like.
Those parties receive large donations from oil and gas - the media channels they are work with are owned by investment companies who invest in oil and gas. They speak endlessly about how renewables don't work when the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine because they want to keep their investments successful, and they speak about how much you are paying to subsidise those renewables. Now, they want to dig, dig, dig, because they want to protect their investment in oil and gas despite knowing that it will not necessarily impact on price, and knowing that rejecting renewables ties us to the despots who are manipulating the markets.

They demonise Zack Polanski just as they did Jeremy Corbyn because both speak of inequality - public services have been eroded because political parties who receive substantial donations from extreme wealth refuse to tackle the extremely low tax rates paid by the uber rich. It is no surprise that the owners of GB News and The Daily Mail are both non-dom, complex trust owner types. Get them speaking about the average tax rates of the billionaire boys and you'll have a different type of resentment building up - I saw an 11% figure recently compared to 33% for a nurse. I am a small business owner myself and declare every, single penny of my income from home and abroad because it is right that I pay the correct amount of tax to help the nation's services.

As for immigration, if we keep bombing the globe, and building its inequality, people will move to find safety and prosperity elsewhere - it has been this way since the neolithic age. Our birth rate is now 1.4 - for a myriad of reasons - so we need immigration, lots of it, or we will not be able to fill our pension pot or our vacancies, AI notwithstanding.

Anyway, back to the 115 - any news other than Tolmie's post?

Excellent post mate - well said!!

State pension is about £40 below the frozen (by the Tories) income tax threshold so most pensioners will pay tax if they have a private or occupational pension.
Or if they have historically paid in a maximum for some time into the system via NI with Serps and Grad etc. not forgetting the 5p a week for reaching 80 years of age.

I’ve no idea mate. It’s just bad that they feel the need to go. My nephew has built a Company from scratch (having gone bankrupt once when in his early twenties) he’s worked his bollocks off and employs 50+ people in the NW. He can only visit the UK now for 90 days/per year. He’s got children and wants to leave them something. Of course there are parasites, the undeserving etc amongst those that’s left - but you need people who are driven, will get off their arse, work like stink, putting their personal assets at risk etc. He was born in a council house. It’s not a “trade” he created it.
I've worked hard all my life and pay my taxes. Fair play to your nephew for working hard and becoming successful. I'm pretty sure he'd still be a lot better off than me if he stayed here and paid his dues, than I am.

I think the PL are waiting until whisky nose carks it until they release the findings. A good day to bury bad news - and release the 115 result.
I’d rather the breaking of the news (positive obviously) was witnessed by that old twat. For me releasing the news final day of season with a spurs relegation being picked apart by the media would be sweet

If thats true we need to delay the announcement for at least another 5 years. :- )

Imagine how many pages on here we'd be up to.
Pep stated to the media that even if we were relegated he would stay and fight. He does not want a stain hanging over his success.i feel he will go this year or next but the timing of the announcement (assuming we are cleared) is important for his decision. He has given everything to our club these last ten years.

Not only the tax but all this insane net zero bollocks, which is forging prices if energy and thus everything else up, and from a motorists' view the way we're fleeced then persecuted thanks to this mad obsession with speed and safety, the immigration problem...

Not sure I have read a more ignorant statement here. Which says something.

Net zero has nothing to do with energy prices going up?

Business costs increasing are not related to tax but other stupid things like Brexit, US tech companies changing retail markets, property & capital assets being bought but not used, absolute lack of investment by privatised utility companies..

I could go on and on but you are not someone interested in truth or reflecting on the fact it’s people such as yourself, who vote the way you do, cause all the problems for business you complain about.

A small demographic choose the name Mohammed for cultural and familial reasons, whereas a substantially larger demographic have a much larger range of names to select from...the rest of the list is Noah, Rory, Arthur, Leo, George, Luca. Theo, Oscar, Jude, Archie, Freddie, Arlo, Henry, Archie, Charlie, Finley, Albie, Harry, Jack, Lucas.

Still, racists gonna racist.
That’s a very good point. Stats are so misleading and often distorted. We live in a climate of fear unfortunately. I blame the media in all its forms.
