PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Totally agree,if you were escaping a war torn country,or abuse, would you not be happy and relieved to land into the first safe country you arrive in,and not trek accross Europe, risk your life travelling 12 miles accross a sea in a little dinghy? Just saying .
Exactly this.

It surely can't be a coincidence that these 115 charges have come about since Brexit? I blame trump too, and Boris.
It's about time we faced facts, swapped to EVs and got rid of farage.

Don't you guys have tons of windmills already in the ocean?

I'd be increasing them.. try and get everyone to have wind generators and solar panels around the house so they can get on Instant pots, microwaves, induction heating and possibly EV's to get around American oil if you can.

Why dont they settle in France? That's what I asked.

Column 1 - total immigrant population (immigrant defined as not born in the destination country)
Column 2 - percentage of total population.
Column 3 - female immigrant percentage.

So, can we now put this issue to bed? France and Germany both have a greater number of immigrants than the UK, and the inflammatory 'fighting age men' chatter so beloved of Reform is goolies.

Many do settle in France. There is no legal requirement to do so. Feeling safe is not just a matter of there are no bombs - it has to do with language, culture, provision, and many other factors.

For clarity, my family are Irish immigrants who fled famine.

There is a whole political area of the forum where this chat is welcome.

Heaven forbid those controlling the petro dollar get ousted. This is why green energy is dragging it's feet. Generally being sabotaged and receiving a negative press.

Absolutely this.

It should be viewed as something you pay to help society be a bit nicer for everyone to live in, but it's harder for that to happen when some focus on using tax avoidance schemes. Yes they aren't illegal, but when so many well off people take that approach - or move abroad - then everyone's roads are a bit shitter, there's a bit more rubbish everywhere etc etc.
It's not nicer
It's shit.
The roads are fucked
We get ripped off left right and centre

And if you still work either part or full time you start paying tax once you've earned£700 per year.
The contribution from older demographics is rising. For instance, in the 2022/23 tax year, those over 70 alone paid £19.1 billion in income tax, which was more than the total paid by all workers under 30 (£18.3 billion) for the first time.

Spain has already invested particularly in wind but also in solar of course so much so that prices of electricity are lower and reducing. The Gov has also for the time being removed the vat tax equivalent completely.

Sorry maybe I didn't make this strong enough earlier.

Keep the politics to the politics forum.
Espresso with a shot Baileys is perfect for a Sunday morning stroll through though the woods with my dog & 2 cats mate

If you don’t have any dogs, cats or woods to stroll through, it’s still a perfect way to start a sunny Sunday :)
