Holidays

Who did you book it through ? Definitely on my to do list

A mate has used a Travel company for several big trips to US and South America, and thought I would try them for last year's trip. eShores they are called, lady called Emma (a Blue too!) was our advisor/booking agent. Gave her a list of places we wanted to go, and she came back with flights, hotels, transfers etc. Happy to change any aspect you wish until happy with it.
Have just used her and the company again for Feb trip. Excellent service and took all the stress and mither of booking everything ourselves.

We now live in Poulton Le Fylde, but ironically eShores are based in Castleton, Rochdale about ten minutes from where we lived in Marland. :-)

PS, Emma is on holiday until Monday.

Cheers mate, hoping to take my daughter when she finishes high school in 3 years plus it’s my 60th

Is this summer gonna end up like the Covid years of holiday cancellations due to fuel shortages all over Europe and beyond. How do people feel about paying your holiday in full then be told you can’t have a refund only vouchers back. Tough choice

Most of our holidays we only pay when we get to the hotel. With the flights, if they don’t go, I would assume we would get a refund, but I suppose airlines could claim exceptional circumstances. I’d be fine with vouchers that I could use when flights start operating normally again. We’ve paid a few hundred quid for tickets for various attractions in Canada, so might lose them, but that’s small fry compared to the cost of the holidays.

Yep this is my worry
Im meant to be going to tenerife in June but
can see a lot of issues with fuel sadly.
Really thinking of cancelling it to be honest.
Not sure what to do.

I’m off to gran canary in June also if you cancel you will lose your money assuming you have paid it all now, just wait and see

Yeah i worry to much but its infuriating that this crisis, albeit a major one can distrupt the fuel so much.
Bit like the over reliance on gas from Russia caused the energy bills to spike.
Never seems to be any contingency.

A chance to wheel out my Seville video again :)

Seriously though, Seville is the best city in Europe. Top of your list should be:-
  • The Real Alcazar - beautiful Moorish palace and gardens
  • Seville Cathedral and la Giralda - cavernous building with an amazing bell tower
  • Parque Maris Luisa and The Plaza Espana - gorgeous (I'm running out of superlatives!) piece of architecture set in a lovely green park with lots of interesting little things to see
  • The Metropol Parasol (also known as Las Setas) - the world's largest wooden structure which you can walk about.
There are also quite a few interesting minor sites but any of the above four would be top of the list in any other city in Europe - and there are all within a mile of so of each other in Seville!

Great video, brought back some memories. Sunny and gorgeous blue skies so close to Chritmas too !

I work at Tower of London and Hampton court palace amongst other tourist places. Our budgets only set few months ago have been slashed due to expected drop in visitors.

If we don't manage it then there could be redundancies. I'm 64 been there 18 years and will take it if offered

Disgrace this.
Another Brexit benefit.

My daughter flew from here back to the UK on Friday and Ryan Air sent an email advising people to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours ahead due to EES (instead of the usual 2 hours). Fortunately it doesn't affect her as she still has Czech residence but certainly worth bearing in mind when planning what time to arrive at the airport.

One of them in that article says they got there at 7.30 am for an 11am flight! It’s outrageous that these airports can’t process people more quickly.

So once you’ve gone through the process how does this affect the next time, will they have a seperate queue for those who’ve registered?

Ha ha, if only. We’ve had to go to the EES station on every trip so far. Sometimes you then get a message on screen that you can go straight to the e-gate, but we’ve done the photo/finger print 3 or 4 times.

It’s a very messy system where you have three stages - fingerprints, e-gate and then you still have to wait to get your passport stamped. If they don’t get their act together, there will be enormous queues in the summer.
