Has anyone heard of any problems/delays with new EES system at the airport at feurtuventura?
Yes it was rubbish in jan with big queus for entry and most machines not working. If you got lucky they opened the barriers, which i was - some wernt, and straight to manual. Think regs got stricter in may so hopefullyits better now. I like fuerteventura. Been corralejo and caleta de fuste. Be interested to hear how you get on

Wife and I off to Amsterdam end of May. Hull to Rotterdam overnight ferry as foot passengers, coach transfer into Amsterdam. Done this route a few times and just use Amsterdam as a base. We get a regional travel pass and in previous years have done Marken, Voledam, Edam, Haarlem and few other places. Doing a day trip to Cologne this year. Will definitely do Volendam again (via the ferry from Marken) as love it there. Looking to do Zandvoort. Really looking forward to it. Find the ferry so stress free and even more so on the current climate.

Seems to be lots of issues with the new EES system at airports.
Massive queues at some. Quite unbelievable what the process is and given we get hundreds of illegal, unvetted men at dover landing every day that can just waltz in and get a hotel!
What a pathetic ignorant post!
Get off your moronic high horse.
Any foreign national arriving in the UK at an airport has to have one of these.

Have you ever met Del Boy and Rodney on the ferry ?

Vienna and Prague for us next month. Four days in Vienna, train, three days in Prague. Not been to either city before and looking forward to just exploring and relaxing.

Won't be cheap, nothing is these days, though BA flights from Heathrow at sensible times weren't too bad.

Fucking yawn. Thread about holidays and you shoehorn in some bullshit about immigration.

Fuck off back to Facebook and say hello to my Dad for me.

Both beautiful cities and IMHO the best in Europe (along with Venice). Prague is, of course, the most beautiful. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Just on general chaos at European airports and to emphasise the need to arrive early - a little story.
My 15 year old niece was in Lisbon a week or so ago representing Australia in a gymnastics competition. She arrived at the airport three hours ahead of the departure for a flight to London then Sydney. Cleared security and baggage checked-in pretty quickly. Then got stuck a non-moving queue of non-EU nationals. Time ticked away and the adult chaperone looking after a group of 4 young girls approached a number of officials becoming increasingly concerned about missing the flight - only to be met with a terse "not my problem" from each of them. Ultimately their luggage was offloaded from the aircraft and they missed their flight. Relatives in Australia up all night booking London hotel and new flight tickets. Cost $4000 Aussie dollars with little chance of recompense. Four very distressed and tearful young girls 000's of miles from home who followed all instructions and guidance. Needless to say vowing NEVER to visit Portugal again.
Expect/Plan for the worst in Europe this summer - and hope for the best. Fortunately, I've no European trips planned this year, but unfortunately this chaos will catch some people out. Be mindful.

Currently in Portugal heading off later to watch one of the local lower league teams ( top of their league) courtesy of 2 tickets off one of the staff members at the complex we are staying at..sitting at about 25c at the moment..
Is that a good view from 25c :-)
I went to watch FC Agueda when I was in Portugal. Baking hot Sunday and no, I never heard of them either.

Tenerife next sat. 8 nights
Not going to Wembley has funded 30% of it !

Back in time for Everton as long as the ees delays don’t stitch us up !

Vienna is a funny one. I expected a lot more than what was actually there. It also didn't help it was minus 10 when we went. Prague is beautiful, and so are the women!!

Enjoyed both. In Vienna, don’t miss the Austrian National Library, which is like something out of a fantasy book/film. Whilst St Stephen’s Cathedral is probably the most well known religious building, I thought the Karlskirche and Votive Church were both brilliant. And of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a ride on the world famous Riesenrad.

We are currently putting up our Vienna videos from last year’s trip on our YouTube channel. Hot off the press, released just today, is our Vienna top 10.

In Playa Banca. Far less hustle and bustle than Tenerife and Benidorm. No lucky lucky men mithering you. No people trying to get you in restaurants in the evening. Proper chilled. Not many bars near the marina for watching the match tomorrow. Sure the Irish bar will have it on

Cheers, and I'm pleased that despite only speaking a very small amount amount of German, I know what Riesenrad is.

Also, could I ask what you shot your video on please? I'm guessing a DJI Osmo Pocket 3

It was shot on my daughter’s regular iPhone 16 pro.

You tried The Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum. The Prater amusement park, the Belevedere palace, the MAK museum, cafe Central, the Muskikverein and my favourite, the Burg Kino cinema a right old flea pit where every Sunday they show The Third Man in English. The public transport network of trams, subway and buses is superb.
