Rise of ULEZ 'Blade Runners': Secret activists take on Khan's cameras
EXCLUSIVE: One of the secretive Blade Runners (pictured), who met with MailOnline, vowed: 'We are going to take down every single one no matter what'.
Just the days you are on the road, the cameras will pick you up moving about. So driving into the shithole and parking up at hotel, do you need to pay for the day(s) the car is parked or just the entry & exit days?
Cheers, assumed that would be how it worked otherwise they couldn't argue the bullshit environment impact. The wording is probably deliberately vague to say everyday a non complaint in in the ulez zone the charge must be paid so folks like me pay 4 days instead of 2 etc.ULEZ expanding out to me means Ive had my car towed the other day to a scrap yard, 05 plate. Got £350 for it which is annoying.
It's an utter joke and nothing but yet another cynical tax dressed up as doing something for the environment.ULEZ expanding out to me means Ive had my car towed the other day to a scrap yard, 05 plate. Got £350 for it which is annoying.
I'm not even in central London, so I've got no tubes or train stations nearby meaning I either drive and pay £12 a day or have to use a bus everywhere, it's a joke. It's an utter joke and nothing but yet another cynical tax dressed up as doing something for the environment.
I'm a firm believer in the best thing you can do for the environment where motoring is concerned is to extend the lifespan of cars as much as possible. Making perfectly good cars obsolete and worthless through shit schemes like ULEZ just means more new cars have to be built, which have massive carbon footprints.
Aren’t they fighting back about the expansion, heard Khan has done it almost illegally he has no mandate and all his info is crap over impact etc.I'm not even in central London, so I've got no tubes or train stations nearby meaning I either drive and pay £12 a day or have to use a bus everywhere, it's a joke.
The council are but how long do you hold on. I think from what ive read, London council can enforce anything really. They wanted the council buy in to make it easier. I guess it can go to appeals etc but honestly I dont know.Aren’t they fighting back about the expansion, heard Khan has done it almost illegally he has no mandate and all his info is crap over impact etc.

Lesson learned - London can fuck right off.Just after the pandemic lock down I took Mrs MB for a weekend away in London. As I drove down I saw a sign that said congestion charge Monday-Friday 7am-7pm (times may be off by 30 mins). I was arriving after the congestion charge time applied. Or so I thought. Fast forward a week or two later and I get 2 x penalty notices, 1 for the Friday night when I drove in, and 1 for the Sunday when I drove out again saying I’d not paid the congestion charge.
I appealed saying I was aware of the congestion charge however relied on a sign that said Monday-Friday 7am-7pm and that I rarely drove to London. They wrote back saying that because I was aware of the congestion charge it was my job to check the enforceable times (which had become 7 days a week and most, if not all, the hours in the day). At that point it was clear it’s all a money making scheme and fuck all to do with air quality or congestion.
I'm glad that we had the good sense in Manchester to tell the council to shove their congestion charge / clean air zone shit up their arse.Aren’t they fighting back about the expansion, heard Khan has done it almost illegally he has no mandate and all his info is crap over impact etc.
I have a 2011 diesel my tax is around £160, my dad has 2010 petrol Merc tax is £365 his emissions are worse yet ULEZ would say different as petrol cars aren’t included it’s all bollocksI'm glad that we had the good sense in Manchester to tell the council to shove their congestion charge / clean air zone shit up their arse.
I've just bought an old Volvo XC90. The thing is an absolute tank - Volvo don't muck about. 132,000 miles, 13 years old and sitting in it you'd think it was brand new. I have every reason to believe it'll still happily be on the road in another 132,000 miles and 13 years.
Of course it's not ULEZ compliant so eventually it'll have to be scrapped way before its time just like lots of other cars, to be replaced by some plastic hybrid that's so full of electronics it'll be dead 10 years after it's made.
That can't be good for the environment surely.
I'm no climate denier - far from it - I do a lot of outdoor activity including winter mountaineering and I see first hand how our climate has become warmer, but levying these bullshit taxes and scrapping cars is not the answer.
Absolutely fuck all to do with Khan.Dropped the wife at Heathrow recently unaware that I had to pay for the privilege in Kahn's fiefdom. Just got a fine this morning of £180, reduced to £90 if I pay promptly. Kahn is a ****.
Had all of the signs telling you about drop off charges been nicked?Dropped the wife at Heathrow recently unaware that I had to pay for the privilege in Kahn's fiefdom. Just got a fine this morning of £180, reduced to £90 if I pay promptly. Kahn is a ****.
You're mistaken. The fine is paid to TFL and it's got that cunts name Kahn at the bottom of the letter. The location was the Southern perimeter road by Heathrow. Maybe I should have been more explicit in my original post. I did pay for the privilege of dropping her offAbsolutely fuck all to do with Khan.
Charges are set by the owners of Heathrow, Ardian, Qatar Investment Authority, PIF, GIC, Australian Retirement Trust, and China Investment Corporation.
