PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

View attachment 190721Now maybe I'm being a bit too touchy here but something tells me we've upset Ryan.

The thing about people like this is that they throw around accusations and spout their opinions with great certainty, yet ask them exactly what we've done to supposedly cheat and they can't even begin to explain. You'll get some generic, ill-informed and irretrievably witless City bingo about sportswashing or a club with no fans not possibly being able to earn the revenue we post by honest means.

The thing is, the client journalists whose arguments they parrot are just as bad. I had the misfortune to see in my Substack feed today a link to a story by the unemployed Tony Evans, self-proclaimed 'socialist' and risible Scouse exceptionalist. Obviously there was no way I was going to click the link and read it, but I gathered he was suggesting that Liverpool fans would be justified in hoping for Arsenal to lose tonight but should otherwise urge the Gunners to success in the coming weeks as a title win for them would represent a triumph of bad over worse.

Sometimes, I'm greatly irked by the supine attitude of our club in not trying to propagate an alternative narrative to that spouted by cunts like these. On the other hand, in the absence of that, it would be immensely satisfying to win the trophies available to us in the next few weeks and leave our detractors apoplectic in their bitter impotence.

If you think that was me digging a hole, you’re going to be amazed when you realise it was actually you standing in it the whole time
Oh dear.

You said, and I quote, “There wasn't a panel.” This is wrong because the agreement between Chelsea and the PL had no force or effect until and unless it was ratified by the panel that you said didn’t exist.

In response to being told you were wrong, however, you then said, and I summarise, “I’m not wrong “, “I’m not wrong”, “I’m not wrong”, “I’m not not wrong” and “I’m not wrong.”

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, you now have an accountant taking the piss out of you.

That said, this exchange is now reaching the point where the mods say “put each other on ignore or take it to DMs.” I have never put anyone on ignore and certainly have no intention of starting with you. You can send a DM if you want but it will be deleted unread.

So this conversation is now over. But we both know you are itching to have the last word, so go ahead, fill your boots. I won’t be replying.

On the Chelsea matters, the general consensus appears to be that they got away with it. Is this the actual reality, or could the FA, UEFA or the panel you allude to sanction them?

Do 2 wrongs make a right?

My own opinion, FWIW, is that avoiding a sporting sanction after what they did was exceptionally lenient. And I don’t mean a bit on the light side, I mean way out of left field. When you think of what forest and Everton got points deductions for, I struggle, still, to see how it could be justified.

Stefan wrote an excellent piece about it.

The point about the agreement not being valid without the sanction of the panel is that it stops a sanction agreement from being a carve up. I’d be interested in seeing how they were persuaded that this sanction was consistent with previous sanctions imposed.

UEFA have already fined them, the FA is yet to sanction them, so it’s arguable that the PL agreement took into account that they face further sanctions still. But I doubt the FA will impose a sporting sanction.

Getting away with it is a phrase I don’t use and don’t like, but I don’t think the punishment fits the crime, not by a long way.

Is it possible that a quick sale had to be agreed because of sanctions imposed on Russian assets at the time?
Maybe the due diligence findings were put to one side and shall we say dealt with later with the agreement of all including possibly the Gov..

You can read the pain and bitterness in-between the lines from an Arsenal fan.

Arsenal honest? Lol!

State of this.
I wonder what Tarquin thinks of the cash injection provided by Danny Fiszman who made his money off the back of blood diamonds to bankroll Arsene ""financial doping" Wenger in the 90's, George Graham's bungs or if Tarquin wants to go further back maybe he could comment on bribing their way into thr top flight under their first Sugar Daddy Henry Norris who was eventually banned for life.
Just a few examples of Arsenal demonstrating their "class" and "tradition"

The fourth reply, which you summarise with "I'm not not wrong", simplifies as "I'm not right". So they finally admit to being wrong.

Absolutely but carry on like they're the bastion of morality amd superiority.
The banner they unveiled prior to their schooling at Wembley claiming they had history, tradition and class showed a complete lack of self awareness.
