I’m almost certain that it was announced as a 2 year extension and it was asked if it was 1+1 at the time and confirmed that it wasn’t

Maresca must have something about him when he was invited by the legendary Arrigo Sacchi to his house to talk tactics and Italian football. We are talking about in Italian football one of the best mangers of all time. According to Maresca they went back forth talking tactics and how football should be played

Yeah, I do that all the time as well.
 
If you go by the reports. City have agreed on Maresca, as a contingency. If Pep leaves.

Maresca has agreed terms with Napoli, as a contingency to that. Napoli want only him as a contingency, should Conte leave. If not, Maresca has also had talks with Fenerbache as a contingency to not getti g the napoli job. Fenerbacge have Ange Postecoglou lined up as a contingency if they don't get Maresca.

Is Pep the only one without a contingency?

As I mentioned before don’t mind Maresca coming in don’t think he’s the worst manager in the world but surely there’s a chance could get Enrique? He has to be interested in the PL after his time at PSG especially if he wins another CL. Friends with pep, brought up around the same model of football, standards and he seems so likeable with his personal story and with the media and English language! I’d love to see him here.

He is talking to PSG about a 3 year extension his current one expires in June 2027 same as Pep

Didn't Pep practically confirm he's staying the other day by talking about his plans for next season?

Also, if he's leaving when will we find out? Pretty sure we'd know by now

After the Villa match when we've done our farewells to the legendary players that are off, will they announce.... "Oh by the way, nearly forgot... Pep is leaving too"
 
If Arsenal can get to a CL final I’m pretty hopeful Pep is thinking ffs I can get this team there next season

best if Pep stays and summer of 2027 we try to lure Flick or Enrique. or we bring Maresca now and watch those two possibly end up at European or league rival while we gamble on Maresca?

I just dont trust or rate Maresca that highly. promoted with Leicester and unable to get a title race out of a very expensive Chelsea squad. yes won Conference and CWC but the level of opponents there were largely dogshit. some top players were never in the match squads for Conference league because the bench easily got them til the final...
 
We cant there just be a definitive statement that he is staying or going? He gets pissed off with the media asking the question but besides the i have a contract comment, still doesnt just say 110% i will be here next season?

Maybe he's not decided yet? Dependent on how the season finishes.

But thats not exactly great for the club either? He is beyond a legend here but surely with weeks left he has an idea and it stops the media shite every day?

There is business still to be done. Everything and everyone needs to focussed. There would be no point him announcing anything at this point.
