PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Well the thing is that FFP/PSR wouldn't stop clubs bankrupting themselves, as it looks at the wrong financial indicators.

And one question I always ask people who use the "cheats" label and say we should all our trophies removed is "Do you really think that Mancini being paid just over £5m over 3 years via the Al Jazira consultancy contract, at a time when we were incurring losses that far exceeded FFP limits, made the difference to all the trophies won under Pep?"

I also still believe that when (if) we get the final verdict, a lot of the accounting charges will be over the issue of related parties. And whether or not Etihad is a related party (it isn't) it makes absolutely zero difference to the numbers. It would be just a note in the accounts.
I close people down now by asking them to name in £millions exactly how much they think we cheated by as PL FFP didn't start until 2013/14.

1. Was it illegal - tick
2. Did it provide a sporting advantage - tick
3. Is it against the PL rules - tick
4. Do the perpetrators play in red - tick

Result: no action by the PL, no ongoing outcry in media

Conclusion: see point 4
We really should have taken the Scouse Twats to the cleaners over that, we really dont help ourselfs sometimes.

Have heard loads of people comment on the Southampton punishment by saying what about City.

In fact, the closest things to this Southampton incident were a) Leeds spying on Derby, there were no rules in place at the time, and b) Liverpool hacking our scouting database.

The funny thing is, which proves our point, a lot of football people would never have heard of incident b) there.
It was buried by the Red Cartel favouring media.

Fuck me… even when his club has suffered the most catastrophic blow possibly in their history, which could set them back 10 years and tarnish their name for even longer … the first thing he thinks about is City

We have definitely made him mentally ill
I suspect the mental illness was already there or in the post before his City obsession

i asked chatgpt so don't know how reliable it is but given everyone says "what about salaries" when we talk about arsenals high net spend i thought i'd look for numbers on overall profit and loss as that includes salaries. Seems we do okay in that comparison over the last 10 years.

But Southampton admitted guilt. City have always denied the charges.

I’ve posted in another thread on the whataboutary, why were Liverpool allowed to completely escape any form of sporting or financial sanction for what they did to City in accessing the club’s scouting software. 115 is completely different to this Southampton story, however what Liverpool did is similar in observing another team’s activity to gain a sporting advantage.

It's worse

Intellectual property theft is, in a lot of cases, a criminal offence
