North Stand Construction Discussion

The absolute perfect example of why the club needs to stop with that nonsense version of Blue Moon, seriously how are they still sticking with it and nobody has raised the issue?

Imagine 60,000 belting out a slow and steady Blue Moon or even Hey Jude right before kick off to build the atmosphere... Rather than 5 seconds of singing and then everyone giving up

No and there won’t be. The cable net comes in through the corners which blocks off any construction. The tiers are also at different rakes.

Any substantial expansion is a long long time away and may never happen. If they did want to do something more minor they could add an extra block at the north end to the CB and East stands like they did at the south end. They could potentially bring those front rows back which were replaced with big ad boards, or they could add some sort of retractable seats to the top of the access tunnel.
You mean fill in the corners ? Doesn’t look like they can with the screens and lack of space to go go back without also expanding the stands

But on 36 minutes I watched hundreds exiting for the bars, in the south, the same where I was sat. With 3 minutes added, and many not returning until after Villa equalised, nearly 30 minutes, I do not get it.
Because if you don't go then, you'll be queueing for most of half time trying to get a beer - obvious really!

Besides, some of us have a long and proud record of missing goals either side of halftime - ISTR the 4-2 win against Spurs a few years ago where we went 2-0 down just before half time, I entirely missed the first 4 of the 6 goals because I was underneath - the TV's underneath should be allowed to show the last 5 minutes of the first half and the first 5 minutes of the second half for this IMHO

With the screens in the new stand, you have to order and pick up from the designated pick-up point on the receipt. Pick up point A was packed, at least a 20 minute queue at half time. Whereas, we went to B and served straight away. Seemed many people went to A as it was the closest one to the main entrance rather than checking the receipt to see which one you have to pick up at, which can be difficult to find.

I don't know how feasible it is but the screen is irrelevant. They put them in, and can take them out.

You sound like Jack ;)

Did anyone sit in the North Stand on Sunday? I’d love to hear what the safe standing sections were like, as I’m thinking about moving my season ticket from the South Stand.

I thought it looked great. Was trying to take the cue from the south stand on some songs. Needs some work in that’s respect but if it can get going it will be rocking

Would it be beyond imagination to drink before and after the game, saving half time for a wee.
On Sunday, a beautiful day, I had a few in glossop, a couple along the canal, after, a pint in glossop, then a couple in the jug and glass Newhaven, and managed as usual not to miss a minute of the game.
However I do respect your point that missing the game is a time honoured tradition and not something to be treated lightly.-:)

You can't legislate for idiots
