PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Expecting an announcement over the next few weeks , if this drags into next season then it will be a joke , ive now got to the point were the Premier league need to put up , or shut up , if they put up we appeal , if they shut up they pay our miilions spent on legal fees , and the club starts redress in earnest against all the c*nts in the media who have blackened our name with the bare faced lies.

According to Stefan’s latest substack City’s auditors have been fined 1.33 million for failing to do a proper job on a construction company. I think, but can’t be sure, that Stefan regards this as good news as it highlights the legal obligations they would be under to put City under extra scrutiny in response to the charges and have still given us a clean bill of health

I mean tbf this is out of the PL hands. Has been for years.

I am truly shocked that there were some holes in a construction company’s accounts.

See your point , but they started this shitshow , down to them to put the pressure on , the legals must have made over £50m or more between them , need to pull their well manicured digits out of their arse and get on with it ,you would think they were stringing it along for a few more quid , .................as if :)

Not in City's long term interests to effectively bankrupt the PL.
The media are no longer news providers they sell their opinions of news to the highest bidders.
As you say media criticism seems to motivate both players and fans so it can't be that bad.
This is so ,so true ,the media are an embarrassment in the UK now ,everything is done for "Likes" and too appease their master and those gullible to believe the crap they write .

I genuinely believe the league thought we would back down and take the pinch. It had not happened and now an end can’t be found. The governance of the league is blatantly manipulated by some clubs. That allowed a messy situation to develop.

Govern fairly for all or not at all.

City has said not guilty from the start.

like a bully picking the wrong person to be a wanker to. Slap in the face is all the league has now. Total shambles.
Reminds me of the derby where City went on to win the league. Roberto Mancini didn't back down, neither did City.

It's not any news. Means nothing, although the main point about the auditors being very careful for the last 3 (or more likely at least 7) years is a good one, as discussed on here since the allegations were referred.

I think the point was that KFAs on social media would be using this as a sign that City’s auditors were known for turning a blind eye to dodgy accounting when it actually suggests they’d be extra scrupulous

:) Fair enough. As I said the point about auditors being extra scrupulous due to the referred allegations (and even before) was a good one.

It just isn't news, good or bad.

BDO being fined only happened on Friday, so I guess that counts as news even if it isn’t that relevant to our own case

I'd like to think clubs will be asked to pay pro rata eg the case covers 10 seasons so if a team was in the PL for all 10 season they'd pay 10x what a team who just had 1 season on the 10 in the PL.
Id be amazed if the PL actually have a process for this, its one thing if the PL are in dispute and have a liability of a million, but this will be much much higher.

The PL don’t seem to have a process for anything. No set bands for punishments no idea how to fairly cover legal expenses when clubs come and go. Dodgy appointment sign offs. Nothing to deal with assets sales to related parties. No way of investigating overseas finances seemingly no scrutiny of Covid loses.
