PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

"Once we have a ruling, believe me, Chris, we're going to have a wonderful sit down together and I'll say everything I wanted to say for the last three years."

If we'd lost Khaldoon wouldn't have used the word 'wonderful' to describe his forthcoming account of the perfidious PL.

It's in the bag boys and girls fret no more :-)
I just don’t think he would have opened himself up to future ridicule by saying that if he wasn’t certain we’re fine. He is a very serious operator and isn’t the type for frivolous words.

Not quite.

Lots of people have said that the charges would be difficult to sustain, especially the most serious ones, but with the caveat that we don’t know what evidence the PL are relying on.

Khaldoon DOES know what evidence they are relying on, and he has access to some of the best legal brains in the country. They will have reported in great detail on how the trial went. So our chairman is in an infinitely better position to be confident about the outcome than almost anyone else.

But until the decision is announced, that’s all it can be.

There’s confidence abd then there is THAT confidence though Chris?

I was listening to last weeks Off the Ball podcast from BBC Scotland earlier today. One of the guests was a chap that has set up an App to help football fans find places to meet to watch games if they are on holiday or out of town.

Anyway, the bloke said he is a Rangers fan but has a great big soft spot for City thanks to a bunch of mates that are very big Blues, and that he's been going to City games for years, even back to Maine Road days.

The minute he mentioned City, one of the presenters asked about the charges, opening with 'when are they getting punished?'

Absolutely no mention of guilt or innocence, just straight to the punishment.

In fairness, the strap line of the programme is 'the most petty and ill-informed show on radio.'

Khaldoon knows we have categorically Not broken financial rules by creating fake sponsorships.

Khaldoon knows the league does not have the reach nor the arena to demand information. Pannick is in to sweep up the situation and shut it down properly.

The 115 if looking at it from the leagues side could be seen as a desperate act of frustration at not being able to get hold of the information; only leaked out of context emails which CAS tried to build a case on and failed miserably despite the grandstanding.

You could go even further and look at Khaldoon’s words as a warning shot across the league who have probably been told by now they have landed up shits creek to get on with releasing the verdict. If the rules need rewritten again like APT then it’s going to be a long wait zzzzzzzz.

Aslong as it states clearly that the club did not disguise owner investment I don’t care about the rest. The cheats stuff is boring now. It will continue in one way or another anyway. How many people misquote the cas result to strengthen their own argument? Nearly everyone especially the media and our competitors.

Khaldoon knows the game by now after 18 seasons, CAS pinch(far too trusting at that point), The dip hack and the continued smear campaign that shows no sign of stopping.

CFG is a beast now. The academy is a pipe line to success. The ground revamp is another key milestone in our self sustainability growth.

Last point, we have so many teams in the group now…are we arguing that all the sponsors from Girona to NYC is completely fabricated? It’s mental. Why no whistle blower at any of the clubs in the cfg group?

A win is a win and it’s going to be epic in real life and the socials.
It was a Uefa pinch wasn't it we won at CAS but made a deal with Uefa. Sorry to be perdantic.

I genuinely think the situation is either of these four things and I no longer consider anything else:

1 - Khaldoon obviously knows City haven’t done it and he knows our legal team performed to the ability needed to prove that at the hearing. The result isn’t known but as City haven’t done it and our legal team have told him they’ve battered the Premier League in the hearing, he’s almost 100% confident, as close as can be without the result, and that’s why we’re full steam ahead and he’s bullish.

2 - All of the above had happened but there’s also been a nod from the panel to both parties which way it’s gone and that City are aware they’ve won big. The panel are just doing the write up but have been pulled into other things hence the delay.

3 - The full verdict was given to both parties already. It was so comprehensively favourable to City that MCFC now have the chance to do severe damage to not only the Premier League but other clubs who pushed this and manipulated the PL (we know which ones). The Premier League are negotiating with City to try and mitigate the damage MCFC now have at their disposal. City are initially cooperating to see what they can be offered, likely compensation, rule rewriting, protections from this crap happening again, additional powers within English football, certain executives from other clubs gone etc.

4 - Least likely but throwing this in there as it might explain the delay. City have won big on all the charges and the Premier League have appealed, the appeal is being done without the initial result being published. It has to be this way rather the other way around (City appealing a loss) because of how confident Khaldoon is and how the usual suspects haven’t leaked it in the press. Same situation as number 1 but only we’re now at appeal stage, City know they’ve not done it and know the PL have nothing. I don’t think this is the case as it’s outside of process and Pannick and co. were pictured coming in and out of the hearing in late 2024, I don’t think it gets past the press and I think even City leak if this was the case.

Any confidence will be based on what he knows has gone on. Khaldoon will know if we’ve breached any rules. Like a shoplifting suspect knows if he’s shoplifted.

If you know you haven’t committed an offence you’re going to be extremely confident you aren’t getting convicted, no matter what the noise from the other side is.

Just my opinion but I am not sure the club will seek any recompense or will be interested in going after any of the numerous hacks, social media streamers, radio stations, tv.stations that have constantly smeared our name.
Just think its not our style and is a case of keeping your freinds close but your enemies closer.
I may be totally wrong
The implication from Khaldoon’s comments is that we will go after the people at the top of the PL and those dishonest Directors who tried to smear us. Most of the hacks, apart from the total loons, have kept their heads down for the last 12 months. The date for any legal action by City has expired in most instances.

Plus changes at the rags
We still don’t know why Michael Edwards (who hacked City’s data) suddenly left Liverpool while Klopp was there and came back when Klopp left. Or why he was promoted by Liverpool after they had to pay £1m to City after they hacked our scouting network database. Not many people get promoted after costing their employers £1m. But no one in the media wants to run the story.

Only if he was about 400 when he wrote it!
He didn't mean THE original Nostradamus. Sometimes an inferior talent takes the name of someone who was better years before, usually these people have developed superiority complexes via their links to scummy red indoctrination.

Yep and the obvious thing to add is that not only do you know you didn’t shop lift but your solicitor quite obviously battered the prosecution at the trial too.

I'd expect that the major media organisations would receive a letter explaining what the club believe is acceptable wording regarding future mentions of the charges.

Then the club will wait and see who oversteps, and that organisation will lose some benefits.

Two league titles, two FA Cups, the League Cup and the Champions League since the charges were announced. I'll settle for the same over the next three years.
You obviously didn't want to appear greedy as you missed off a World Club Cup, UEFA Super Cup and a Charity Shield.
