I really don't get City in the transfer market. We talk a big game about signing the best players until it comes to getting out the cheque book then we get cold feet and turn into del boy looking to get a bargain. Just pay the sodding money.

I dont think its anything to do with trying to get a bargain, more to do with not being ripped off because of the money we now have.

True.

But again highlights the difference in class - our "Thanks James" videos on the OS compared to their legends who are queueing to slate the lad!

Liverpool could have avoided all this, indeed could put a stop to it today if they did the right thing and accepted the spectacularly good offer on the table. Everyone, fans and pundits alike know Sterling isn't worth £50m but LFC are hell bent on that seemingly plucked out if the air sum of money just so they can make out they got one over the Mancs. What is truly laughable is that not one pundit or media hack (as far as I know) has spoken out against the football club that are preventing a young English player from furthering his career by joining an ambitious, recently successful club. Not one.

Spot on mate, they are living in the past, utter delusion.

It's July. Moan and flap in September if we havent got our signings done.

What liverpool are not getting is players around the world, ones that would be capable talent wise of seeing them back competing will be looking at the way the club is behaving and thinking fuck that!

Big players move for big money all the time and big clubs just get on with it. Of course Liverpool kick and scream because they cant replace a Suarez or Sterling like for like due to their demise.

Its funny as fuck watching them implode and Ferran and Tiki are knowing full well that not only are we stripping them of possibly their last really big assets, we are driving the nail firmly in to the coffin of LFC.

This is Lescott Mk2. Everton then believing they were on a par with City.
Same with Liverpool now. Few players at either club would now make it at City.
The days of them being the millionaires clubs that bought their glory days have gone.
Both clubs have fallen behind City in every way. The gap is likely to widen for the foreseeable future.

The scouse delusion: (not shared by all their fans but promoted in the media)
Milner has gone to Liverpool to win medals. He will transform the team by replacing the legend Gerrard as a creative midfield dynamo. Ex Liverpool manager Roy, immediately needs to appoint Milner captain England and ensure he wins at least 100 caps. The irresistable attraction of Liverpool is they are one of the biggest clubs in the world, have the most fans, the best ground and the most history including five times champions of Europe. They also play in red and for glory not money. Which player would not want to join? City did not recognise Milners talent and were ruining his career by not playing him. It was a master stroke for Liverpool to sign him for free.

Sterling on the other hand can only want to join City for money not trophies. He shows no ambition and will regress at City to become a bench warmer to be released on a free to Rochdale or Oldham within a couple of seasons where City will have to make up his exhorbitant wages. He can only realise his potential and be a great player at Liverpool where other young players his age are happy to play for pocket money. He career will be downhill when Liverpool decide to let him go. He should show lifelong gratitude that Liverpool saved him from QPR. Sterling needs to understand he is a an ungrateful arrogant tosser who cannot play. He is so useless they want £50 million for him. Of course this figure has nothing to do with having to recoup the monies they have spent on transfers and QPR taking part of the fee as part of a sell on clause.

Then sell him a year later having butchered the career of another young English prospect? ;)
Name a career we have butchered??? Rodwell never fit, Sinclair wasn't ever good enough he couldn't step up a level, Johnson played his best football for us, then went and got pissed all the time. Hart, Richards, Sturridge, SWP, Barton we improved to international level. So who have we butchered?

You're wasting your time mate. In the eyes of Liverpool fans it's only right that City fans cheered Milner even though he was leaving on a free. It was the right and proper thing to do because he was leaving to go to Liverpool, the biggest and bestest club in the land, with the most knowledgeable and bestest fan base. Just as it's right for Liverpool to vilify Sterling for wanting to leave the biggest and bestest club in the world lah. Because in their tiny brain washed minds, anyone who wants to leave Liverpool must be an evil, money grabbing, morally bankrupt, little liar.
We haven't seen a club and fanbase act so appallingly since Everton over Lescott. I wonder what they both have in common? Is it because they're both Scouse or perhaps it's because its the last clear and unmistakeable sign that we are now a bigger club than them in the eyes of the players.

Coco the Clown's guest this morning was the thoroughly unbiased Jason McAteer, who not only echoed those sentiments, but openly accused City of orchestrating the whole thing, telling the player to go on strike etc etc. I do hope the City legal team were listening!

He was being sarcastic.

So apparently we won't pay what Juve want for Pogba and we won’t budge on 5m on Sterling.

I don’t believe the papers anyway but it would be good if we could get deals agreed soon and take them to Aus with us.

Something along the lines of 'we all know how these things work'.

He went onto mention how every other young player at the club loves Brenda and then added what a fantastic coach he is.

I think all lurking scousers should Google 'Lovren goes on strike' before they comment on the Sterling situation. I suppose it was ok last season when Lovren wanted to join Dipperpool to behave in this manner...

The Milner/Sterling comparisons are way off.

Milner engineered his move via deception tactics and leading the club a merry dance while Sterling has been honest from the beginning of this pantomime by stating his intentions and desire to move.
