Obviously I want us to land our targets, but I'm fine with whatever happens at this point. If they want to get greedy over 5m and have to deal with the headache for an entire year, thats worth the entertainment value alone for me. Cant wait for that spray-tanned gobshite saying things like he has to show great character before he can get back into the first team!

Typical scousers though, living in the past, saying oh look we did it with Suarez and Torres, we'll play hardball. Boys good, but he aint either of them I'm afraid. If he does stay and they exile him to the youth team, they wont find a suitor willing to pay 20 the following year! Same if he's a bit part player. If they bring him back into the first team it'll be comedy gold to see the mental gymnastics. Not that good? Greedy boy? Never said that! The scouse circus on TV will be truly jumping through hoops. They'd still get far less the following year with a year less on his contract, cause he aint signing a new one with all the abuse theyve shown him. Passing up money, all for a small-time grudge. Loving it.

What you guys arent appreciating is that were in no hurry to sell.

You guys on the other hand have been talking about winning the champions league. You wont do that with an 18 man squad.

The fact is you need English players that will go into your first team and theyre thin on the ground.

Fabian Delph? Youll conquer Europe with Fabian Delph?

You need Sterling more than we need to sell him.

The price is £50million.

Fair play mate, we're all guessing at this point. My guess would be we'll see movement tomorrow afternoon. The morning will see all the Professional Scousers rolled out on SSN and TalkSport, saying how badly advised he is, that Liverpool will be well shut of him, that they have class and City have got too much money.

Then mid afternoon I'd expect the SSN yellow ticker to go yellow with news Liverpool have accepted a record fee for a British player. Just my opinion of course.
One dickhead pundit on TS today was making the assertion that Sterling wasn't good enough for the dippers first eleven anymore and he couldn't see for the life in him where he would play next season if he stayed.
Good job he's moving to a team where they are more likely to appreciate his talents then isn't it.

In all seriousness, say some rather unscrupulous Scouse "heavies" have "sent the boys round" to have 'a word' in Stirling's ear.

Worked like a charm on a couple of previous occasions. (allegedly).

Worried that it might leave the kid (and us) in a very dodgy position with no way out.

Can you really see our owners wanting to become involved in, what would be a long and complicated police investigation. Not their style at all.

Despite all the sh*te the media continually spout, City have played it exactly by the book here.,

Unfortunately, it seems that not everyone is quite so conciensouc

This is clearly a message to Liverpool AND their supporters over Sterling. ALL players want to be appreciated by their club, their manager and fans. At the moment Liverpool have shown him none in the way they have treated him with their recent contract offer and the way they have subsequently thrown him to the wolves.

They value him at 50m but are not prepared to pay him like a 50m player.

Keep the faith this signing will happen, has all the hallmarks of the Bale transfer.

Stevie Slipper now getting in on the act apparently, saying he's disappointed in Sterling.

Any of you still maintaining this deal was sewn up weeks ago? Hardly looks that way does it?

I'd love to see thing not happen. Liverpool, a kid with attitude worth £45m sitting on the bench and Rodgers thinking:"Why the fuck didn't we sell..."
