Sell Caballero and bring in English back up. then use that overseas spot on outfield player. Caballero is only here because he is Pellegrini's buddy, fucking joke.

To be fair, we've know about the issue as long as everybody else, and we've let it become a problem. That's our fault.

Trouble is - Villa have already bought his replacement. So, he can sit on their bench now instead of ours !!

Don't agree at all. He's had a last minute bout of small fish in a big pond syndrome. Despite what people think about some of the lads we've got playing for us it's much harder to make it at the top than it is at lesser clubs. If he didn't even fancy trying to get in the side that tells us all we need to know. We can just be thankful we didn't have to wait for any football to be played before finding out he wasn't good enough.

And the fact that this nonsense is self perpetuating. Delph, like Milner, is a gutless fucking **** as far as I'm concerned, but the media will now go all out to scare all English players into not signing for us. I'm fucking sick to my stomach, not because some two bit non-entity from Aston Villa has bottled coming to us, but because those lying cunts in the press can smear us like this and reap dividends
 
Goes a long way to showing the mentality of the lad, doesn't believe he is good enough to challenge for a first team place - if he doesn't believe it then he's got no chance. It's good for him and the club.
 
Thought it was a strange move for him in the first place. And probably a good move for him to stay put.

From our perspective he would have been a decent replacement for Milner.

We really should be replacing Caballero with a HG keeper to open up another foreign player space.
 
Why have we not activated his release clause before now, got turned down earlier and had a bit longer to go for new targets? can understand the others being drawn out and negotiating being done but this one was cheap and we knew the price. bit gutted he's not coming,he would have made the squad a lot stronger.

Well Caballero needs to go and replaced by someone HG. Also, MCRJON did allude to a few promotions from the EDS. Losing out on Delph may mean one less kid loaned out this year. I just hope it doesn't mean the young lads lose out and end up sitting on their arses.

Hire Willy as our GK coach or an assistant coach then. I think the competition Willy offered was for maybe the first month and then Joe quickly regained the spot. Any partially decent hg GK would provide some competition as well.

True.

The whole ruling is ridiculous though because it overvalues average players and forces some of them into playing at a level they are clearly not good enough to play at just because the buying club needs to fill a quota.
 
How does anyone know he was due to have a medical today ? Because Sky Sources said so ? That's no proof whatsoever. Everyone always gets so giddy thinking deals are done and dusted before there's any official word. Maybe, just maybe, Delph is happy where he is with a very young child just on the scene and he considers now isn't the right time to move. All this "he's bottled it" bollocks is so arrogant and disrespectful.
